Pania of the Reef is a figure of Maori mythology. The bronze statue is situated along the Napier foreshore, lovely grassed area with gardens around.

An interesting reminder of Maori folklore. It is in the Sunken Gardens next to the sea. Probably not worth a special visit but good to see when strolling through the gardens to the fountain.
