Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Strand Arcade is from a bygone era and is one of the oldest arcades in Auckland, it dates back to 1910 and is full of charm. There are some very nice boutique shops and is a charming place to visit whilst in the city.

The Strand Arcade is located in Queen Street in the heart of the CBD. It's one of Auckland's oldest buildings which dates back to the early 1900's. The Arcade has numerous boutique style shops with a large Asian food court below . It's not as attractive as the Strand Arcade in Sydney but still is charming.

The Strand Arcade is an old style shopping center where it preserved the elegrance from the old days. Do take the kids there, it is like travelling back in time.

nothing here anymore. It's a dead shopping centre now. Many stores were closed and it's pretty much empty.

A nice restaurant and shopping arcade in the Central Business District (CBD) of Auckland. I'm not sure exact what appeals to you, but it's a nice location and worth looking it over to see is the option appeals to you. Give it a go.

The arcade is located along Queen Street, the main shopping, entertainment and shopping area in the heart of the city and one will not miss it!
The arcade has been around for a long time and from its present offering, we felt it should have undergone some refurbishment or renovation works to make it more "in trend". There are 2 rows of retail shops that offer visitors to look for lifestyle and fashion etc products. And of course, the café here is quite well known for its quality coffee and pastry and prices are reasonable too.
What I would like to recommend is the International Food Court at the basement. There are about 8 stalls selling all kinds of cuisines (which as its name stated) ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Western, Malaysia, Mediterranean etc. Each stall offer a wide variety of cooked food items like rice, bento sets, soup, noodles etc and prices are reasonable, on average, between $10 to $18.
It was not crowded when we came (4.00pm) and the place was cooling and bright. It was spacious too.
We came by this Western Food Stall (to be exact is Mediterranean) run by the boss, who is Iranian and married to a Chinese lady, who was very friendly and humourous! We order the grilled Stirloin steak ($13.50) and just look at the portion given! It was huge! Not only that, the steak was cooked to perfection, well marinated and juicy! Also the French Fries and Salad were taste too except that it would be perfect if more salad dressing can be given. Definitely it was great value and nice food. We came by this place twice in our stay in Auckland. (unfortunately we would want to try the Lamb Chop/Shoulder but it does not offer but only Lamb liver)
We also tried the Seafood Fried Rice from the Chinese stall ($10) and portion was large too and quite ok, though the rice was fried too long and a bit dry. There were little prawns, crab stick and squid, besides eggs.
Well, after shopping or walk around here, its good to come by for a break and having a meal I would recommend the steak! You won't regret it!
