Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Met friends who had arrived on a cruise ship, and wanted to see the changes to this part of town since their last visit.

Kids seemed take by the water displays, we wandered right through to the superyacht marina and back again, had breakfast at North Wharf, then returned through the viaduct for a spot of shopping.

No pressure, just a great place for a wander with some interesting nautical artifacts on display along the way.

We spent a Saturday evening wandering down the dockland edge and came across the Silo Park. There was an outdoor film event being screened onto one of the silos, apparently quite frequent throughout the summer. There were lots of cool bars on the dock close by and there were food trucks in the actual park.

I didn't know I'd ever find such a cool park in town. Very nice to see people enjoying their Sunday afternoon in the playground, sparts courts and other facilities attractions in a refurbished old port.

We had a very early morning walk around the water front, starting at Harbourside and down through Beaumont Street and back. Its amazing how things have changed, lots of restaurants and bars, great looking at all the boats as you cross the bridge to the Wynyard Quarter. The park for the children is absolutely great, water for paddling and lots of activities - it has been made into a really lovely place to take your children.

More geared to families, this area has a nice boat harbour and playground equipment and recycled materials (such as washrooms created from storage containers). A nice to do if you are by the ferry landing area.

Nice waterfront walk from Quay street and the downtown core. Interesting art installations, plenty of nearby restaurants and lots of lovely boats to gawk at along the way.

Most Friday's and some other days Silo park hosts 'movies in the park'. They open up night markets which are super.... hipster... with GREAT food, drinks and hand crafted art. They usually play old school movies but you can see a list on the website.

Bring a picnic blanket, a bean bag, a fold up chair (although not a high one because there's people behind you) and relax under the stars.
