Very Modern!

It's worth checking out this place while you're in Parnell. The architecture is impressive and staff are friendly. Don't miss St Mary's next door!

Our friend who took us here had attended this church when he was young. There have been additions since then. It's very airy and minimally decorated inside. A feeling of openness.

While the main part is not too old the addition is newer and it all fits together. Windows are modern style apart from the one over the door which is more traditional. Works well. Go to st Mary's never door which is a SUPURB example of exposed wood interior. There is also an interesting set of pictures showing how it... More

My wife and I visited this magnificent Cathedral and tentatively walked inside to be greeted by an interior that took our breath away, the old and the modern coming together as one impressive work , the stained glass is something that really cannot be described---- You really have to go and take in the splendor of this magnificent building for... St. Mary's grew too small and Holy Trinity Cathedral was built. (The organ is still being completed and seeking people to help purchase the pipes.) The glorious stained glass windows are fantastic and fill the majestic space with windows over looking the harbor and city. The modern lights remind me of stars in the constellation. Refresh yourself here before walking... More

I love coming to the cathedral fir some serenity. The beautiful woodwork of the ceilings is lovely to look at. The magnificent organ and its pipes produce a magnificent sound.

If you are a "church tourist" you have to add this to your list. First part of Cathedral was started in 1970s to look old cathedralish with vaulted cielings and red brick exterior, then in 1990s they added on a modern open floor plan, white cement exterior, with a modern water sculpture out front. Then to add to this glorious... More

Stunning stained glass windows in the colourful art style of the Maoris! Some parts are Gothic, others are full of delicious Polynesian and Mauri symbols, which make this cathedral so breath-taking. Look back, where you will find the Great Window of the Polynesian Christ (with vividly coloured Pacific motifs) and the Rose Window. Furniture is simple. The atmosphere created by... More

No visit to the city of Auckland would be complete without seeing this beautiful modern building. Its most outstanding feature is stunning stained glass windows. The Great Window of the Polynesian Christ, which needs to be viewed from the inside, is purported to be the largest expanse of stained glass in the Southern Hemisphere, and is by a local Artist.... The cathedral is a mixture of ancient gothic with the soaring vaulted roof of the choir . Leading to a more modern main body of this beautiful building soft grey stone walls and magnificent stain glass windows in the art style of the Maoris cast a pool of colours upon the floor . The modern glass font shimmers , the... More
