We travelled the red and blue route (having paid for the fare) and while it took us round town we were completely uneducated as to what we had seen on our way. The double decker red bus was so noisy the canned presentation was inaudible and the driver could not tell us what was open (the cathedral) or not. The... More

Busses ran late, was stranded for over an hour. Complete waste of $45 and an afternoon which I could have used to actually see Auckland.

This Explorer hop on hop off bus was priced at 45 NZ dollars per adult. This is an excellent way of seeing the city and there is an easy to follow map of the red route and blue route. We first went around the red loop catching the bus at Philips Corner/Princes Wharf, near the cruise ship terminal at Princes... More

The buses are very clean, run closely to schedule, and the commentary is on overhead speakers instead of headsets. Having had too many headset and connection failures in other cities I find the overhead speakers to be superior. The drivers were all friendly, informative, a pleasure to be with. The two routes, red and blue, offer a comprehensive overview of... More

We caught the bus at the civic centre, $45 per person. The next stop was the sky tower, viaduct harbour, drive by the harbour area up to Bastion point, rose garden, church, Auckland museum. It takes about an hour to ride the circuit. At the museum you can transfer to the blue line, and go to mount Eden. That bus... More

45$ per person for the worst tourist bus trip ever. We hopped off at the 3rd bus stop with my wife. Why? These buses are operated as normal public transport as well! Believe it or not, anyone can travel with it with the local public transport card (called AT card). They drive it even if it's crowded, many people who... More

Love using HOHO in cities. Good option to identify Auckland sites to experience. If cruise ships are in town get to your pick up point early as may have to wait to start. Clean buses, basic commentary. Very helpful operators. If getting off at each stop allow the full day to get around. Some may be disappointed no earplug commentary... More

The fare was $45 and it was worth it. The buses run every 30 minutes and the drivers are great. Our favourite stop was on the blue line at Mount Eden where you have a great view of the city. Just one thing, although there is a timetable no one seems to keep to it.

We use most tourist buses when we visit, just to get an idea of where the places of interest are and how far they are spread out. The tour was OK but nothing special. The commentary was somewhat basic but at least it is easy to follow. The day we visited, it wasn't particularly busy so it was easy to... More

We usually like to do the hop-on hop-offs to get an overview of a new city we are visiting. We were disappointed with this product in Auckland. There were only three stops in the Central Business District, and all three were very close to each other. We had a long walk from our CBD hotel to the closest stop. The... More
