Vast floor space providing odd tables scattered around. Probably a better atmosphere at night. Mum had the parsnip soup which was hot, filling and tasty. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was adequate. Good service and some good wines too be bought next door at th he French wine shop.

We were taken to this market as part of a pre-arranged conference tour and found the best market we have seen anywhere in the world. Not only is it a fresh fruit and vegetable market, there are so many speciality gourmet stalls it is impossible to catalogue them all -- not to mention the fresh bakery products, the wine cave... We loved this market, we wanted to eat and buy something from virtually every stall. We sampled a pork bao and a spiced chorizo baguette, both delicious. Lovely fresh produce, great looking smoked fish, yummy hummus. Delicious samples to try along the way. Definitely worth a visit.

A most pleasant Sunday morning enjoying the French pastries and great coffee and watching the shoppers picking through the produce! The crowded market is not one to be missed! You jostle thru the cafe looking for the empty seats and also queue for coffee and pastries - and you wonder why it is so crowded! The answer is when you... More

I loved the size - wasn't overwhelming, the atmosphere - very relaxed and great live music, and the food of course. Had a lovely morning here in spite of the rain, delicious almond croissant and coffee. The paella looked and smelled wonderful, the breads were lovely, the Turkish wraps, various dips and French delicacies were all very tempting.

Wonderful French inspired market run by people who are passionate about food. Personal favourites include the fresh juice stall, Turkish dips and the artisan breads. Lovely atmosphere and everyone is so happy & friendly, nice way to spend a weekend morning.

I loved the Parnell Farmers Market on Saturday. NZ markets have more value added products than our farmers markets which sell mainly fresh produce. I was excited to read about the La Cigale French Market on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, and flowers, the market offered giant pans of paella, made-to-orders crepes, syringe filled... More

Ahhh what a relief after noisy auckland center.a cosy relaxed sundaymorning sterts here with all the nice fresh products brought in by french foodlovers. Had a very good guitarist on the background ,a wine, late breakfast brunch. because of the severe rainshowers its a good place to stay when the wether is bad

We went to this market in Parnell for breakfast before going to the airport. Super fruit and veg for sale as well as foods from many countries, eg Turkish flat bread, hummus etc. I had the best granola ever for breakfast, full of fruit and nuts. Wonderful festive atmosphere with a violinist playing and many happy people.

Good market, fresh food but there aren't many options to eat. I've tried an organic juice, It was really good. The prices are expensive, I think. I,ve paid $12 for 1 big cup of juice. What is really cool is the square, where we can seat under the sun and listen some street artist.
