Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the Jucy hotel. The reserve is filled with massive nz Christmas trees ... i forget the real name ... they flower red at Christmas time.
The stair case is challenging.
There is a monument with a typo ... see if you can find it.
This is your challenge. Add a review if you find it. This is your challenge.

This is a small triangular park with many tree branches that bend to the ground forcing you to bend as well to pass through, and a steep staircase to awaken all your muscles. Both elements will test your balance and physical ability and skills, but this park also has benches to let you rest and relax when you're done with the aerobics or just because. It's central and in a relatively quiet part of the city.

From the Pullman Hotel, turn down Princes Street, cross the road and go through the Emily Place Reserve. Continue down Emily Place and you're at Customs Street.

The fact that you can even rate this reserve seems ridiculous to me. What next lamp posts? Curb side weeds?

It is a nice enough park but if you actually visit this with the intention of going here, you need your head checked.

2.711/5, it's nice if you stumble upon it, but don't be stupid and add it to a must see list!

While on a walking tour making our way down from Albert Park and the University area our guide took us to Emily Place. This very small place on the side of a steep hill which has quite a lot of history attached to it. This is the location of the first church in Auckland, St. Paul's, back in 1843, what remains today is a monument dedicated to St Paul's and many large overgrown pohutukawa trees. Access to Emily Place is via steep stairways, not suitable for everyone.

It is a park with unique features, Giant Trees Stumps, just at the surface of the ground, and the big branches are bending at every direction. So big and bent, the big branches are blocking the pathways. People have to bend when passing under theses trees and supporters need to stop the bending branches get worse.
They are located in small park, fully shade with these big old trees. Not too spectacular, but it is OK and nice place to get break at hot days, close to the city centre.

This tiny park half way up the steep hill from Customs St to the University or Albert Park is best known for its huge, old, sprawling pohutukawa (NZ Christmas trees). While they are at the best around Christmas, when they’re laden with red flowers, the trees are pretty incredible any time of year because of their sprawling nature that virtually takes up the whole park. The branches are so low and heavy that some of them are propped with poles. There are benches for a tranquil sit in the park and, in spring, daffodils in the grassy bits. Well worth a stop on your way up the hill for a little spot of Auckland history and flora. It isn’t a destination but it sure is a little bit of city refuge and tranquility.

There are many amazing trees around Auckland, particularly in the largish parks. Emily Place is just a small reserve near the Pullman hotel, but it is home to a group of amazing pohutukawa trees, which make negotiating the path a challenge. Some of the branches across the path are propped up by steel posts - amazing. Hidden in the centre of the reserve, where the two main paths cross, is a monument related to the location of the original St Paul's church. The plaque on the pedestal includes a spelling mistake made in the original engraving, plus an interesting way of fixing it!

Neat little park in the CBD. Lots of bench space to relax and enjoy 20 mins listening to birds. The trees are amazing. They span over and on the walkway, some branches are supported by steel pipes.

This is an unusual little woodland area with twisted trees growing across the paths. Its only small so worth a quick look. Very mysterious looking.
