Ponsonby is a great place to go if you are looking for small shops, great restaurants and great bars (also amazing coffee). The place itself is not so big, but it has everything you need right there without the hustle and bustle of the city....More

Ponsonby is a great place to go to for a bit of everything. There are cafes and restaurants all over and there are boutique shops that sell things that's not too main stream and some are pretty eclectic. Parking though is a bit of a...More

I walked to Ponsonby from Upper Queen Street, it was nice walk, lots to look at, crazy sculptures half buried in a park. Some interesting people. But the shops were overpriced and uninteresting, sorry. But on a positive note as I was leaving I stopped...More

I was impressed by the relaxed pace of the commercial area. Very fashionable shops and great places to stop for a bite or to protect against the rainy weather.

I love Ponsonby. Close to CBD. Offers great shops and restaurants. Just take a stroll and explore the area.

Great little area for a range of eateries in a historic part of town. Enjoy the sun and a glass of wine on a little terrace and watch the world go by.

The main street of Ponsonby is lined with restaurants and cafes, and for me they were just too trendy and for the "beautiful people" (and on a Saturday morning, full to overflowing). There are some very pretty houses in the side streets, though.

Try Dizengof in Ponsonby road (think that is correct spelling). Very good selection, be prepared for it to be busy but have a look upstairs as it often has available seating. Delicious food, reasonable prices.
