Unique shops and restaurants in an old Victorian and Art Deco part of the city. Hilly area for those with physical disabilities. About 1-2 miles from city center.

I wouldn't make Parnell a specific location to visit. I would make it a place to stroll down the street and pick a casual place to eat. Found 2 great places to eat. The walk up from town involves the Parnell Rise (and probably a hike down from town); quite manageable if you aren't in a rush.

This is a very nice, distinctive area of Auckland. It has fascinating shops, restaurant and bars, a rose garden, markets and a museum. It's relaxing to stroll around, and window shop. We arrived there on the hop on hop off bus.

Lots of small, one-of-a-kind shops on this street. Unfortunately most were closed when we walked past (on the way back from the Auckland Museum).

Parnell is packed with charm and atmosphere and is uniquely different with one side of the street packed with shops and eatery's. Unfortunately, we needed more time to explore. I would certainly visit Parnell again.

We walked from our hotel in Britomart and, being in our 70s, found the walk up Parnell Rise an effort - but the walk back was easy. Elderly should consider bus or taxi. Lovely timber buildings abound. Worth a visit

We visited Parnell village for brunch and to take a look at the lovely galleries along the street. It did not disappoint at all. We found a great cafe.. Profile cafe which was excellent at the top of the hill and worked our way down the road and back up. Well worth a visit while in Auckland
