While the airplane exhibit is quite good, the rest of MOTAT is quite hit or miss. The steam powered exhibit showed old machines working and the docent explained lots of things in detail. But with two big exhibit halls closed, there seemed to be even...More

I'm a local and some of my European visitors thought it's worth to go to MOTAT. I don't think that the main exhibition is worth the money. Disappointing for a city like Auckland. Especially if you compare it to some places in Europe. The only...More

Great Aviation Museum, but the other attractions don't quite meet the same standard. There's been a lot of investment in the new Aviation Hangars and it shows. What used to be corroding planes and long grass is now a world-class Aviation Museum. The tram ride...More

Take the bus out to MOTAT and check out the old aircraft. You'll see one of the world's few remaining passenger amphibious airliners along with plenty of other aircraft. There is a short trolley ride that's fun. The vintage pumping station will also amaze you...More

MOTAT is great fun for the entire family and allows kids to run around and have fun, while there is still a unique range of incredible things. It is also not expensive, so it is a great day out.
