Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s is New Zealand’s most famous aquarium! It is home to New Zealand's only sub-Antarctic penguins and offers a myriad of opportunities to get up close and personal with incredible marine life from the Pacific and Southern oceans. For a truly incredible experience, take the plunge on an Animal Adventure jump into the shark tank and go snorkeling with 14 massive sharks or jump on the ice and get up close and personal with the King and Gentoo penguins!

We loved watching penguins and crayfish. It’s a well maintained aquarium. They even have play area for kids. They provide papers and crayons to draw pictures.

Was a great experience and loved watching the penguins. However one area in the penguin enclosure had a lot of faeces and needed a good cleaning. Very expensive though, and we were amused by how much they wanted for the photos that they took -...More

We only visited here once and enjoyed our day trip here. Easy parking available and a wonderful drive along the waterfront to get here. Okahu Bay in right there, and Mission Bay is just around the corner. Boot Hill is nearby too and Orakei Marae...More

Great place to visit, but expensive and overcrowded. The cafe area needs to be much bigger. If you are doing the shark experience, your loved ones can only watch you from the conveyor going around. They are not allowed anywhere else and they have to...More

Love the penguins and the display. Very dizzy when we walked through the mini bridge and we had to take a mini break after that.

Hey Glyn, Thank you very much for the review! The Gentoo and the King penguins are amazing, aren't they! Yea, the white-out tunnel can be a little challenging! It was designed to show everyone what it would be like in an actual whiteout! Cheers, JT

Let me first start off by saying that the attraction itself was fun. It's a well maintained facility and is good way to spend a couple hours. However, our experience was spoiled by poor planning and preparation by management. My wife and I brought our...More
