It's only 12 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland to Devonport, but it's like another country. The sand is golden and the people are friendly, Devonport was an early settlement, these days it's a holiday destination. It's also a base for the New Zealand Navy.

Devonport is a laid-back seaside suburb of Auckland, only 12 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. It's an inviting place, with clean white beaches. The people are friendly, it's a good place to enjoy some time walking around. Devonport was settled by Europeans in the 1800s, but Maoris were there before. Dedvonport is best known as a base for the New Zealand Navy.

Did the bike path. Lovely parks and lots of trees! and birds and bridges, a easy ride the third time, lots of historical houses and town. And beautiful beach.

We had the pleasure of taking our two grand daughters on the ferry from Auckland to Devonport, and spent several hours roaming the shops and beaches, enjoying gelato, second hand books, & a picnic lunch. We saw Devonport through their eyes and the day was great.

Devonport is a seaside suburb of Auckland; it has nice beaches. Best way to get there is by ferry; it takes 12 minutes from downtown Auckland. Devonport is also a base for the Royal New Zealand Navy. Devonport is a great place for a day trip, we took a picnic lunch and had it on the beach. We also met a helpful bus-driver, who gave us some pointers about getting around.

Recently I had a lovely lazy Friday lunch in this neat suburb. Can’t recall where we ate but it was on the Main Street and all the cafes and restaurants look great

Picturesque village just a 10 minute ferry ride from Auckland. Explored the village and walked along the shoreline. We were really lucky to get a superb view of Emirates Team NZ and the UK boats heading back to the basin after practicing on the water.
Really nice vibe.

Best place to have a great shot of city of sails from other side of the heaven. Lots of restaurants to hang out and great place to spent your day off.

I’m planning to come in Devonport with my campervan in the 31st December. I need a parking where I can park the campervan for free ideally but if not at least for the day.
Any recommendation?
We are leaving the car in devonport and visit Auckland by feet. Thank

There is parking on Devonport at the ferry terminal not sure if there is a cost or not. You can then take the ferry to Auckland to visit. There is no parking in Auckland side for a van
Hope t
hat helps

If we take the ferry to Devonport and want to go up to the Mount Victoria Reserve how do we get up there without walking? Are buses or cabs available?

You could get a cab to the bottom, but it's not far to walk there, all of five-seven mins.
