Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've been here many times (generally to meet friends as they like this place), but I would never choose to come here myself with my kids. The idea is great - sit and relax with a wine or coffee while your kids play, but I don't see the value in paying $10 per child for them to play on a limited playground. There are better playgrounds around for free. Not only that, there is no 'outside' food and drink allowed. I understand that of course as a business your purpose is to make a profit, however I don't appreciate having to pay for 'fries' just so we can sit there when we have paid to use the playground. I would not choose to return here.

It is a bit far from the city center but is a worthwhile trip for kids. There is a parking lot in front of the area but when it fills up you are able to park on the road.
The ticket for the playground can be purchased at the souvenir store where the kids can get a wristband.
They have a large play area outdoors where the kids can run around in. It is a nice place to run around whether it is on the slides or on the giant net.
The grounds eatery is nearby and is a nice place to stop by for food.
It is a nice place for kids to run around in, before or after eating. The tuck shop is also a nice place to grab some ice cream.

The show was excellent but the bouncy castle supervisors were sitting in the shade on deck chairs not watching the children who were in distress in the hot sun. I raised my concerns and was informed parents should watch their kids. Agreed but if you charge $7 per person to supervise I would like to think they are cared for and not left to fend for themselves. When you raise a concern do not push blame on others and get defensive.

On our first day in Auckland, my husband and I came upon this interesting-looking restaurant so stopped in. What a wonderful family-friendly place. Not only that but the food was delicious. It was a great stop for brunch and we left early enough to miss the birthday and other celebrating crowds of kids! LOL

What an amazing time, we all had. All our kids enjoyed every minute of the shows and playground, we had a toddler, 6yrs, 7yrs and 2 x 10yrs, they all had a blast, full of laughter and fun! I believe Whoa is absolutely FABULOUS for all ages including adults. There was something for everyone to do. Also the restaurant “The Grounds” the food and service, delicious with a capital D, well worth going and the staff were warm and welcoming! Thank you, we are grateful for the experience.

Fabulous wee show. Very interactive for the little ones. My only disappointment was it started 15 minutes late and that’s hard to explain to a two year old! And the other thing was they handed out a lovely little box with a cake in it to the children. Bit of a shame they weren’t all the same, meaning some were cake pops and some cupcakes. Because you know what kids are like!!
But overall a lot of fun and very keen to go to another show.

I feel like a few changes at Whoa would make it somewhere I would go regularly. I have kids and work and live nearby but have only visited it a few times over the years. I really don't' like the having to pay for the playground. It's good, but not THAT good, particularly off putting if you have more than one kid. I'd prefer if you eat their food (even with a minimum spend) then you get a band. They could also do with some decent cafe cabinet food. It's weird as I'd spend heaps more if they had some options like sandwiches and muffins etc instead of just chips coffee and expensive handmade icecreams (yum though). I've eaten at the restaurant and it is very nice food, but again they really didn't have anything good for kids the times I've been there. I'd love to come and be able to have a few drinks or coffees with lunch or dinner while my kids play but it just doesn't work for me.

Love love this place. The playground is very inviting. So much to choose from and very challenging activities for little ones. They also have a cool cafe inside for children and families. A great place to visit especially on a rainy day.

This place is INCREDIBLE. Not only has great shows during holidays but also the only place I know where you can take the kids somewhere decent to play while you sit at the restaurant and have beautiful food while you watch. You can also order takeaways from the kitchen. It is seriously amazing!

Have just spent the day at 'Whoa! Studios' with 2 x 5 year old boys and a 3 year old girl. We all had an amazing day. The stage show 'Gloomino' was great, as was the food in the restaurant. And the playground kept the kids entertained for ages. Highly recommend, and will definitely return here :-)

Why are over 65s charged more than standard adult prices - interested as planning on taking grandchildren
Written 15 January 2020
Over 5,s are charged more I think as they think they will use the bigger equipment in the playground than the under 5year olds. We had two three years olds who although they had a go at everything they were just too small to fully appreciate it.
