Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The starting point for ferry rides in the harbor, the top of the main shopping street, very close to central subway station at Briton art and main bus routes..Cruise ship landing. Where to start in Auckland.

Everything else was great until the final part of disembarkation from my cruise. This elderly lady with gray hair who works on the floor directing passengers to immigration officers was highly unprofessional extremely rude for no reason. Kinda wish I had taken down her name in order to file a formal complaint. Please step up with the professional training there.

Part of Waitemata Harbour, this wharf is very popular with visitors, as cruise-ships dock here, it has easy access to the CBD.

We had reserved a room at Princess Wharf for two nights ( March 30 and April 1). In March during the Covid-19 pandemic, New Zealand closed its borders and we were unable to complete our travel plans. Hotels.com sent us an email that there would be no charge even though the date of canceling without a charge had passed. Princess Wharf owners also sent us an email that the charges would be dropped as well. The charges were not dropped. We filed a dispute with our credit card company and finally found out the refund would not be granted. This makes no sense and shows a lack of empathy and a level of greed we do not appreciate. In addition we could never get anyone to answer the phone which was also the experience of Hotels.com when they told us we would have to contact the owners directly. BUT NO ONE ANSWERS THEIR PHONE!! Be careful when reserving with this hotel. We were anticipating having a great time but have been totally disappointed with how they handled this situation.

We are boarding a cruise ship here in two days. Rented an apartment at Princes Wharf and are within 10 minutes of Viaduct Harbour (tons of great restaurants and pubs and great place to people watch). We are also within a ten minute walk of where our cruise ship will dock (Queens Wharf). Our apartment is through Princes Wharf Select Apartments. The apartment is a 4 out of 5. There is also a Hilton Hotel that is on this wharf about 3 minutes walk from our apartment. Serveral places to eat (Hiilton has a very nice breakfast buffet). The apartments and hotel rooms have harbor views available at a higher price. The wharf area is safe and we felt safe walking around the downtown area of Auckland. There is construction in progress between the two wharfs but still a modest ten minute walk towing suitcases on wheels. Princes Wharf is not a place to visit for entertainment. It is an ideal location to stay and has some nice places to eat.

Our cruise ship docked at Princess Wharf which was ideal as it’s right next to the centre of Auckland.
It’s a very short walk into the main shopping area of Auckland.
There are a good few restaurants/bars on the wharf along with the Hilton Hotel. There is also a tourist information office here too.
The OK gift shop is worth a visit if you’re looking for any souvenirs or gifts.
The car park on the wharf holds over 800 cars.

Good development, easily reached from our hotel (Crowne Plaza), selection of bars and restaurants and maritime museum. We had a lovely Italian meal, great service with a good/average price tag.

We disembarked from Princes Wharf and were guided out of the terminal, there was no chance to explore and it was very early, there was no store nor restaurant open. This wharf is not just for cruise ships to embark and disembark, they also have multi story luxury apartments and a Hilton Hotel, I guess the view must be great with the price that goes with it. We went back there in the afternoon to browse around the souvenir store on the main floor. Happy Travelling!

We ate at Soul Bar and Bistro on the wharf. An exciting place with may tables overlooking the water. Food tremendous and the waiter was genuinely wonderful. Great walk afterwards along the boardwalk to see the place for the next America's cup. The suspension bridge opened up to let yachts go through. Found a great place for coffee to round off a great outing.

The wharf opened in 1929 has undergone change and is now a multi-use development with apartments and a terminal for Cruise Liners. Worth a walk for the views and may some of the restaurants.
