Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Rooftop movies cancelled my booking last year due to weather- wasn’t given an option of refund, only a credit voucher valid till end of this season. Wanting the purchase the same ticket (premium double) this year, but the price is $15 cheaper compared to last year. I asked whether I could get the remaining $15 in food or drink credit and Rodney (Cinema Coordinator) said no and told me to buy more tickets at the same viewing? Who would I buy an extra ticket for to tag along with my partner and I and sit on their own?
Essentially just taking and pocketing $15. What disappointing customer service.

Such a well organised place now. Tickets can be purchased online. We got the double beanbag which was awesome. Blankets are available for hire at $5 each. Did get a little chilly once the sun went down. Bar with great choice of options. Food was largely pizza or candy bar foods. Toilets are clean but demountables. Gorgeous view once sun has disappeared. Sound quality was awesome considering outside. Will happily go again.

What a lovely idea. It was a very different experience and romantic. The set up is pretty cool and the food was ok. The popcorn was delicious and I'm not a popcorn fan. The bathrooms were clean but I went right in the beginning. Lovely atmosphere. Went to see Banshees of Inisherin. My husband and I hated the movie but still lovely evening. He even asked me to marry him again. I said yes.. Great evening. #rooftopmovies

Don't be guided by the pictures on the website. Those inviting striped deckchairs you see in the promos morph into old, dirty and uncomfortable straight-backed old school style retro 'waiting room' chairs...ensuring you don't want to stay long! Only chairs with any comfort are either reserved for 'possible' guests or hoarded by movie goers who couldn't possibly sit next to anyone else for a full 2 hours, so ensure their jumper gets a seat of its own.
Setting is quite nice with the City skyline lit up in the night sky, but the intermittent wafts of decaying animal across the night air kill any dreamy ambience you were trying to imagine.
At the end of the movie, you have your parking fee to look forward to. Good one City of Perth.
If you must go, either don't - or take a beanbag if you're allowed to and sit in comfort at the front. My recommendation would be to give it a wide berth and head to Moonlight Cinema or one of the other equally amazing outdoor movie experiences Perth has to offer.

Recently visited the rooftop movies and paid for a premium couples lounge ticket. Came with a bottomless box of popcorn, 2 ice creams and a blanket to share on a reserved double beanbag. The ice cream machine was down when we went but they substituted this with another snack. The movie quality and effects were fantastic but the general chit chat in the movie was difficult to hear at the back due to the rear speakers not playing quiter noise and the location was in amongst many nightclubs which you could hear in the background.
Overall staff were great and the movie was worth the watch but I don't think I got my money's worth unfortunately. Would go again but only pay for a standard ticket.

came here on xmas eve having booked online from the UK.
Pricing was fair and we went for the medium tier of bottomless popcorn and 'reserved' seating.
Bean bags were surprisingly comfortable given your sat on concrete (with AstroTurf between you).
Popcorn was only salted unfortunately but never mind - the pizza place had a huge queue so that must have been good. The booze was crazy pricing! Toilets surprisingly good and clean and there is a smoking area up there.
We didn't take our own refreshments as the website infers anything will be confiscated at entry via bag searches. We took a backpack each and wernt searched at all so could have go away with bringing in some snacks!
I have just a few gripes -
1) segregation of premium and 'normal' seating wasn't clear and i had to advised other customers of where they could and couldn't sit. Perhaps color coding the beanbags (as per the top tier) would be better rather than just saying 'anywhere other than the back 3 rows' would make it clear. Perhaps 3 different color beanbags would solve this?
2) i appreciate sound will be an issue, but with the fun fair on one side, and the Ice Cream Factory open air night club to the other side, the film wasn't fully audible throughout the whole film, instead battling the other attractions noise levels.
3) car parking re-validation of tickets - we got this done, but by the time we got to the ticket machine it wouldn't work, so paid $14 instead of $10 for parking, but trying to get back upstairs to get it redone was impossible as everyone exits via the single staircase (down 6 flights).
Other than that - great evening!

My friend suggested this place as she had been before and I booked online which was very straightforward. The only film on during my visit to Perth was Casablanca which I wasn't entirely sure about seeing but I am so glad I did! Film was really good, bean bags are super comfy and there is some great pizza for sale before the film starts. Get there early, watch the sunset with a slice of pizza before choosing your bean bag ready for the show. Blankets were available for hire to keep you warm and cosy.

Went with a friend last night and we loved it.
What a perfect spot for the cinema 😍 beanbags were comfortable, the sound was great eventhough the fringe festival is on, helps that its located on the roof of the car park no need to stress about parking, popcorn was good, staff are friendly, just make sure you bring your ID.
Definitely would recommend for a romantic date night
