You don't have to be religious to appreciate the beautiful architecture and wonderful organ pipes or to feel peaceful if you sit for a few minutes reflection.
This viisit was even better, on a night the whole building became alive with a projected Christmas story.
Awesome!

When the first St George's Anglican Church opened in 1845, there was not much of anything in Perth except sun, sand and sore eyes. The current cathedral has a certain primitive grandeur. Dedicated in 1888, it is built of Perth brick. The best feature is the ceiling, built of local timber. St George's is unpretentious, it is built of whatever materials were available, mostly red brick. It is hard not to feel nostalgic about St George's, it has been in St George's Terrace for as long as most Perth people can remember.

This is a beautifully built Cathedral in the heart of Perth, with wonderful surrounding gardens. The outside of the Cathedral is stunning, and the inside just as stunning. However, wouldn't say it is the best Cathedral around, but is definitely a wonderful place to visit, to really appreciate the true beauty of the building. There is masses held at the Cathedral regularly, if you are religious and would like to participate in a service, however, would still recommend visiting even if you are not deeply religious. Overall, wonderful building.

We popped into the cathedral on route to CBD and were fortunate to be present whilst one of the local girl schools were rehearsing and practicing some hymns. The cathedral is just beautiful both inside and out and presents you with some appreciation of the skills of the workforce responsible for its construction and maintenance.

St Geoge's Anglican Cathedral was built of bricks, like most early buildings in Perth. It is not spectacular, but it represents the people and city from whence it came. The wooden ceiling is well-made, and is worth inspection. St George's is an integral part of Perth, it is hard to imagine the city on the Swan without it.

As cathedrals around the world go, there's nothing particularly amazing about this one. It's not on a truly grand scale, indeed I've seen bigger ordinary churches than this. There's a lot of wood rather than stone. There are a couple of fine stained glass windows. It's a little gloomy, as there are few windows really letting the light it. It's nice enough, but there's no "wow" factor. Worth visiting if you're passing, but not worth a special trip.

We enjoyed a walk through the almost empty church and felt welcome to explore. The floor has recently been polished and the leadlight windows were beautiful. I love when old churches have open doors and we can wonder in and enjoy the beauty and peace.

St Georges os a veatiful, stately cathedral elegant snd venerable among all the newer Perth buildings that surround it.
A short stroll from Central Perth and its along the main bus route leaving towards Adelaide Terrace. Well worth a stop.

If you are religious or not, a beautiful building and worth a walk about. Next to the Westin in the City.

unique cathedral with a small chapel especially dedicated to those who fought in the Great War. Unusual leadlight glass windows.
