About Funcats Watersports
Funcats is one of Perth’s iconic must do activities and one of the few places in the world where you can sail directly in front of a major city. With no experience necessary, there is no better way to enjoy our picturesque city than a relaxing sail on the beautiful Swan River. The fleet includes 40 catamarans, stand up paddleboards and kayaks. Catch the ferry across to South Perth and walk along the foreshore for eight minutes. No bookings required and a free lesson is included for those who haven’t sailed or paddled before. Please be aware that Funcats closes for the winter months

We had a fantastic experience with Fun Cats! We arrived a bit worried on a very windy day having booked stand up paddle boarding, luckily the staff suggested we do double kayaking instead. It was great fun and all of the staff were great, especially the woman running things!

We rode a catamaran on a lovely summer day and it was fantastic. We grew up riding these catamarans and now our kids love them too. The council of South Perth need to protect this business as it adds a lot of value to the Perth experience.

We sailed the catermans twice in a week using vouchers. Andrew and Jane are fantastic providers- polite, enthusiastic and effective communicators. They let us use a voucher that was for SUP and didn't interest us. Rhey also let us use a voucher that we'd left at home, and had a photo of. All in all, a great experience, and as soon as they create a '10 pack' style purchase, or a season ticket, we will be back. Thanks, Quinn and Moira

Sailing - I took my grandchildren out for a sail just as I had taken my own children for the first time more than 30 years ago. Much more modern equipment nowadays of course and no heavy boom to whack you on the head when you go-about. My youngest grandchild squealed with delight as we sliced easily through the water towards the city skyline. The staff were friendly, giving an appropriate level of information to suit the levels of sailing experience and competency. It doesn't matter if you've never sailed, or are an old salt like me, you'll have fun. The Swan River with Perth in the background is one of the most scenic places to sail, and the sea breeze in the afternoon is pretty reliable. For $55 an hour you have no trailer, no launching, no set up, no cleaning and no pack up. Just arrived and sail with up to four per boat. Cheap as chips. I wish sail hire was everywhere.

Received a Red Balloon voucher 2 SUP’s for 2 for an hour as a Christmas gift. Quality SUP’s used, and great advice given on wind direction and the best way to go out across the river. Has helped us decide on purchasing our own SUP’s now!
