Cricket Buff

Being a cricket Buff, I was excited to see the WACA Ground. When I saw the iconic Marsh Lillie Stand it was even better. A must see at least.

I travelled to the WACA ground on the free "Red Cat" bus and although the ground was being prepared for a match not allowing a close up viewing I found their museum. The museum allowed for a casual stroll through at your leisure viewing historical photos and equipment that was used at the ground over the years. A gold coin... More

The WACA opened in 1893 and has some awesome history. It caters for day and night matches, it has 6 light stands for the night games.

Disappointing! The ground was in great condition for the players and the game was entertaining (Aus won the game) but the same can't be said for the conditions of the facilities available for the patrons. The toilets were not clean, limited comfort in the stands and the food available was under par. Disappointed with the state of the WACA, I... More

Unfortunately u we landed in Perth on the night a twenty/20 match had just played so we've weren't around to go to a match. It's a huge stadium which is almost full every match & would love to go for the experience of the atmosphere. You would never know a match had played as the streets are clean & clear... More

I love watching cricket here. I have been a member for 3 years.Offers a great view of the game from just about anywhere. Nice grass banks for families. These areas are alcahol free. Walking distance from the CBD, the is also a free 'CAT' bus CBD. Long term future is a bit uncertain as a new 60000 stadium is being... More

The last two times I've been in the past month the card machines at the bar have been unable to process payments. Ensure you have cash. But then again, even if you do, the seldom have change. How a supposedly world class, iconic stadium does not have the relevant payment infrastructure for international cricket fixtures is anyone's guess. Build the... More

Just wonderful. Being parochial it is really a great cricket venue with most enjoyable times had. Family enjoy the time there.

I suppose it is no different to any other stadium style venue around Australia but really found the WACA to be ordinary. Food was disgusting, expensive - beer was expensive, merchandise shops EXTREMELY expensive, seating was small and cramped - and this was all in a premium box which we paid extra for. Don't think I shall bother going again... More

We did a 2 hour tour of the grounds and it was very informative. We saw the players change rooms, players dining room, media rooms and we walked on the grounds getting an up close look at the pitches. Excellent guide. A bit pricey at $20 per adult but worth it if you are a cricket fan!
