We found the Perth Mint very interesting and educational. The shop is great for gifts and souvenirs and there is a little coffee shop there as well. The tour was also well worth the price and very well done to present the history and process of the mint in a very enjoyable way.

Very interesting tour to take. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the Perth Mint. Lovely coffee shop and gift shop.

This is a beautiful old building made of contrasting sandstone tones. The guide was well informed and humorous with plenty of stories about WA versus the rest of Australia. For me the most enjoyable part was the interactive stories of the goldfields, the people and the events that have shaped WA.

The highlights of the trip include seeing the world's biggest gold coin weighing 1 tonne and of course thesis minute demonstration of how a gold coin is minted from the molten ore. An informative hour for those crazy about the yellow metal like my wife is. Unfortunately that also includes considerably unburdening your wallet.

A really good rainy day activity and quite a good tour. The only complaint is how many people were on the tour - it was very crowded and often hard to hear the guide speak, as we went through many rooms and areas that were not that large. Even the waiting area was so packed it was hard to move... More

Fascinating tour in which a genuine gold bar is made before your very eyes. The tour guide knew what he was talking about & he made the tour very interesting as well as educational. You could also purchase gold nuggets in varying weights & sizes. (My son bought one each for his two children) Well worth a visit.

The narrated tour was interesting. Take the time to watch them pour a brick of gold and learn about the process. The world's largest gold coin is on display as are several very large gold nuggets. There's a posh (somewhat overpriced) jewelry store there, too.

Was very interesting, from watching the gold bullion getting made to trying to lift a 12kg gold bar. A Definate must if you're in Perth.
