The Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is much loved by the people of Perth. The repetoire includes both modern and classical composers, though the classics predominate. People who really love their music often subscribe for the season, though you can usually get a one-off ticket. Home base for WASO is the Perth Concert Hall in St George's Tce, which is accessible by car or public transport.. WASO maintains a high standard. It is boon for the people of WA, who often feel neglected when it comes to the arts

We went to the premier debut of “Become Ocean” and it was terrific experience. The orchestra was fully professional and well rehearsed in their program. Seating is quite adequate and we were able to see without obstruction from row BB.
This particular program includes the WAYO as well and they blended In well to the whole orchestral family.
Well done to all in a fantastic performance.

Amazing evening listening to WASO in the park beginning December 2013. Took chairs and picnic and wine, of course. Fabulous venue by the river and Bell tower. The Orchestra was amazing and the whole evening fabulous. Great atmosphere. Wish I could be in Perth this year to go again.

Dec 2013 • Family
My family stayed at the Citywater during our Perth vacation in Dec 2013 and we were fortune to chance upon a free event “City of Perth SYMPHONY IN THE CITY” held at the Langley Park on 14 Dec 2013 at 7.30pm.
Spectators started to gather at Langley Park as early as 4.30pm with mats and chairs to take position near the Stage. The Event Organizers in anticipation of a huge turnout also put up two giant screens placed further away from the Stage for the benefits of those whom were late and were unable to get near the stage. There were Mobile Food Kiosks and Toilet Facilities further away from the stage for the convenient of spectators who came without taking their dinner.
The Symphony Orchestra’s performance was a big event and it attracted a big turnout to Langley Park. When the Performance kicked off at 7.30pm, the mood at Langley Park was quite divided. Some spectators were seriously enjoying the Symphony Orchestra’s Performance while others were enjoying the carnival atmosphere around the food Kiosks. It was an evening of Great Entertainment and everyone was enjoying it.
“City of Perth SYMPHONY IN THE CITY” was a Great Event and we had an evening of good entertainment. We like to convey our sincerely thanks to the West Australian Symphony Orchestra for this Great Event and to the Event Organizers for a job well done. THANK YOU.

A brilliant group of musicians dedicated to providing music to the people of Perth and the country. Music is a good part of the school curriculum and having our orchestra is very important. Events are held at the Perth Concert Hall and at our Universities and public venues. The West Australian Symphony Orchestra brings music to the masses classical and modern.

I have been going to WASO concerts since to 1980's. Always enjoyed the music and accomplished members of the orchestra. Usually sit in the choir stalls, cheaper, and you get to see the conductors face!

Just saw/ heard Asher Fisch conduct Strauss’ Alpine Symphony and it was great. This was a morning concert from eleven until noon. Fabulous. The was a 20 minute explanation which was very informative. We really enjoyed the programme. The facility is very comfortable as well.

Come and enjoy WASO, a great orchestra, in Perth Concert Hall, sonically a very beautiful space. My wife and I subscribe to the Thursday morning concerts, a good excuse for a cycle in from Freo and a morning off work, with some gorgeous music and then a romantic lunch with my beloved in town. What's not to love?

The Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is much loved by the people of Perth. Many patrons give generously to the orchestra in addition to paying for their season's ticket. Current Principal Conductor is Isrsaeli musician Asher Fisch. He is said to be one of the world's most talented conductors. Many of WASO's patrons are elderly immigrants who have loved classical music all their lives. The main venue for WASO's concerts is the Perth Concert Hall, which has superb acoustics. I have attended WASO concerts several times and rhe sound is wonderful. If you want to attend a WASO concert please book early, as they often sell out. WASO is an arts organisation of which Western Australians can be justly proud.

experienced the pleasure of the sounds of the symphony at Langley Park with a cost $60 to see a great show. The range of music reached from classical, to Christmas Carols, to Lord of the Rings and even the Star Wars soundtrack. I was amazed at the talent, especially considering the difficulties of projecting the sound to such a large crowd while preserving the acoustic integrity. The excellence of their performance relies on the conductor, but they are never less than good.
