The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is much loved by the people of WA. WASO's regular concerts do much to break WA's cultural drought. The Orchestra plays all varieties of classical music. WASO is very popular, if you want to get a ticket it would be wised to book well in advance. Perth people are very proud of WASO, I... More

Come and enjoy WASO, a great orchestra, in Perth Concert Hall, sonically a very beautiful space. My wife and I subscribe to the Thursday morning concerts, a good excuse for a cycle in from Freo and a morning off work, with some gorgeous music and then a romantic lunch with my beloved in town. What's not to love?

The Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is much loved by the people of Perth. Many patrons give generously to the orchestra in addition to paying for their season's ticket. Current Principal Conductor is Isrsaeli musician Asher Fisch. He is said to be one of the world's most talented conductors. Many of WASO's patrons are elderly immigrants who have loved classical... Waso as us locals call them and they call themselves is a world class orchestra from here in Perth. They travel internationally and full of skilled and highly trained musicians. You won't be disappointed. I have seen them several times and have always enjoyed their performances.

If you happen to like symphony orchestra and is around City of Perth sometime around 2nd week of December (preferably on Saturday evening), check out the WASO ‘Symphony in the City’ event, which has been held yearly in Langley Park. Good news is it is free event. If you can find a good spot early enough, bring along the picnic... More

What a wonderful idea to get a younger audience to appreciate the orchestra! it was hard to know where to look, at the film or at the orchestra or at the monitor in front of the Conductor (what did that big circle sync with?) Hope the orchestra members didn't get too sick of the movie! we'll be back for the... More

experienced the pleasure of the sounds of the symphony at Langley Park with a cost $60 to see a great show. The range of music reached from classical, to Christmas Carols, to Lord of the Rings and even the Star Wars soundtrack. I was amazed at the talent, especially considering the difficulties of projecting the sound to such a large crowd... More

When I went to Perth, my friend invited me to go to a concert at Perth Concert Hall. Firstly we had a nice dinner in the cafe adjacent to the foyer. My seat in the concert hall was up in the balcony, as I couldn’t get a seat next to her near the front. Nevertheless, I had a great view... More

West Australian Symphony Orchestra Her: I want you to take me out on Saturday… Me: Umm ok? But where? Answer: For those looking for something a little different on your nights out we’ve recently discovered that the WASO at the Perth concert hall makes for a remarkably sophisticated outing, and enjoyable event.
