What a fabulous way to view the Australia Day Fireworks from the Barrack Street
Jetty. Boarding from Fremantle at 5pm and cruising up the river to the city was a buss
of excitement on the Swan River. It was amazing to view the sky show at such close
range and feel the full impact of the display. A great night for the family and yes we will
do it again.

We were on the Valentines Day cruise in 14 Feb 2020. We have sailed with Captain Cook on previous Valentines Day cruises and several lunch and evening cruises, all providing fantastic food & service. Unfortunately on this occasion we were somewhat disappointed so we provided constructive feedback to Captain Cook. I am delighted to say they responded almost immediately and were able to restore our faith for any future sailings.
We acknowledge things happen from time to time but importantly, Captain Cook's response was very professional & reassuring.
We will definitely be back soon!

We picked up 3 South Australian men’s Master hockey players & drove to Barrack Jetty Perth to board the coach for a 40 minute ride to Swan River vineyards. Parking is the problem! Luckily one of our passengers was a local & showed Barry where to park. First stop Mandoon which offered some lovely wines to taste. Peter & I paid an extra $5 to taste the reserve listed sparkling which he bought to share with his room mates. There is also an art gallery there & a brewery. We then went on to Lansing vineyard. Apart from wine tasting we were given a cheese platter. Barry, my non drinking husband, bought 6 oysters which he said were delicious.
I bought feta cheese, stuffed capsicum & olives to share. Then we went to the Margaret River chocolate tasting & also the Providore where you could taste more wines & liquors. They sold a variety of savoury items. We did buy some chocolate. The tasting platter of chocolate was very small for13 people. Then the coach drive us to the river to board the river cruise. On board we had a selection of sweets to choose & serve ourselves. Self serve treed coffee or tea (no hot chocolate). Later we were surprised one of the boat workers entertained us with her beautiful singing & several of us ladies danced. It was a great part of the trip!
All of this cost $130 & it was good value!!
It rained while on board but this did not matter.

Lunch time menu included prawn, barramundi and cheese and greens. There were none available. Upon enquiring the Stewart advised that the menu on the table was only for the trip from Freemantle to Perth, yet it was on our table without any such distinction. It beggared belief. Truely misleading and deceptive conduct. A refund of 50% would be considered appropriate compensation.

Hi moamalaw Thank you for taking the time to review your recent cruise with us. We are so sorry that you were disappointed with the menu. We offer different menus on different cruises, so we have a different menu for the Fremantle Lunch Cruise, the Summer Lunch Cruise, and the Perth Swan River Dinner Cruise. These menus are all displayed in the folders on the tables, so it sounds like you may have been reading the Summer Lunch Menu, which does include prawns and barramundi. If you can please contact me at reservations@captaincookcruises.com.au with your booking reference, I will look into this further for you. Thank you again. Kind regards, Kat

The cruise was pleasurable and the crew were attentive and professional. The wine was fabulous. The wineries were accomodating and fun. However, the lunch was inedible! They packed 10 people onto a table made for six. The waiter accused one woman of taking two of the complementary glasses of wine, she has bought one at the bar. And then when i asked if i could have my glass of complimentary wine, after he just never gave me one, i was told they had all been given out, we were all sat at the table and that waiter had given the wine out individually... My partner asked for an ale and was given a larger. The burger was oily, the single serve chips bucket was half full and the Japanese bowl was horrible. I would not recommend doing the tour with the lunch, winery and chocolate factory because the lunch was horrible. However, the tour guides were lovely and professional and the winery was great.

Good afternoon Sarah P Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent cruise with us. We are very sorry to hear that your experience over lunch, in particular, was so disappointing. We will certainly be providing this feedback on to our tour partner, as this is certainly not the experience that we wish our customers to have. On the plus side, we will pass on your positive comments re the wine tasting, and regarding our lovely crew on board. Thank you - and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back with us another time soon! Kind regards, Kat

We used this company to take us down the Swan River to Fremantle. The outbound cruise was lovely. Good seat, outside on the James Stirling. Commentary was comprehensive and we learnt much about the river. The development either side an£ the yachting Community. The return journey on the Captain Cook was not as good. The commentary was inaudible, to a large extent this was because some passengers thought that what they had to say was more interesting than the commentary and needed to be heard by all. The boat docks at Shed B in Fremantle which is an easy stroll from the city centre and the WAMM, Western Australia Maritime Museum.

Got on from Fremantle after taking a while to find the checking in counter. B Shed is currently undergoing works which was a surprise as no mention when booking. The signage isn't clear for "Captain Cook" as it's tiny writing, but we eventually found the check in counter in a portable shed, surrounded by fencing and workers. When instructed to get our lunch, it was a shock to see it almost demolished and sloppy. Very unpalatable. Mum had a free birthday lunch Cruise as a Captains Club Member. We both hardly ate, so we said lucky as very expensive lunch cruise otherwise!! and it took absolutely ages to get 1 free drink as long lines of people at the bar. The guy talking through the commentary made a lot of effort, however way too noisy amongst the loud vessel noise aswell. We have been cruising with Captain Cook for many years, we plan to continue as usually love our experience. Hopefully a one off but think you should be provided honest feedback to improve.

Hi there, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent cruise with us. We are so sorry for your experience and will pass your comments regarding the lunch especially on to our Team. Our office in B Shed has had to relocate due to urgent building maintenance but we are pleased to advise that construction around the new location is due to finish within the next few weeks. This will certainly make it easier to find us! Thank you for giving us another go, and we look forward to welcoming you back another time soon!

Fantastic time with great food. Staff were super helpful and very accommodating, with the commentary provided by the captain really interesting. Our little person loved being able to access the decks at both ends of the ship and we were even lucky enough to see dolphins! We would highly recommend Captain Cook Cruises

Booked this trip with the expectation of a lovely meal and cruise along the Swan River. We were delighted to have entertainment provided by an excellent musician and everything about the trip was great. Plenty of delicious food and good quality drinks provided in the standard package.
The 2.5 hours were really lovely since it started at sunset which meant the views of Perth were extra photo-worthy. All in all a great trip well worth doing.
We then had the added bonus of an amazing electrical storm which was a stunning sight making the whole evening even more magical!

I was taken on the lunch cruise to Fremantle. It was lovely weather such helped. Thankfully we could go and start out on the front desk as being inside the whole trip would have been a waste. The captain was informative and staff were very friendly. It was a relaxing way to spend the day. There was a buffet that was ok. Saying that as the butter chicken was too sweet. And some people took too much food so by the time we went up, there was no meats or dessert left. I have bought this lunch cruise for others before as gifts. I was glad to finally go myself and will definitely continue to give this as a gift idea or take someone out for the day.
