We had a fabulous time on the 14 day Ultimate Kimberley tour with KOT and would highly recommend it. We were blown away by the beauty of the Kimberley. We got to experience so many amazing activities. Some of the highlights included Horizontal Falls with overnight stay on a houseboat, seaplane flights, amazing walks in the Bungle Bungles and at Emma Gorge, Tunnel Creek, crocodile spotting and beautiful sunsets. Our guides, Greg and Choccy were fantastic, both very knowledgeable and entertaining. Choccy puts together delicious and healthy lunches every day to have in the outback. Greg’s driving was great. We were very well looked after the whole time. We stayed in some beautiful places with safari tent style accommodation which we loved and otherwise it was a mix of hotel and motel style but all were comfortable and had great food. You can definitely understand where the money goes when you look at the price of some of the places we stayed and activities such as Horizontal Falls. Also our guides worked really hard the whole time but always with a smile and a laugh and made everyone feel at ease. When you look at the cost of similar tours with other companies the Kimberley Outback Tour is value for money. They are very organised with clear instructions on what to pack for the tour and for each day of the trip. If you want a guided tour of the Kimberley definitely book this one.

My husband and I shared a wonderful 15 days with Greg & Choccy and 16 very kind thoughtful travellers. Ftom the start to the finish we experienced very safe, full on days of visiting various attractions including walks ( some challenging) swimming, history, sunsets & amazing rock formations . The floatplane trip and staying the night on a pontoon & the boat trips to the Horizonal Falls was certainly a hightlight for us. The accommodation was more than comfortable and the meals in the evenings/breakfasts were top restaurant standard .The midday lunches, morning & afternoon teas put on by Greg & Coccy were more than you would ever want. We would recommend KOT to anyone looking for an overall amazing experience . Thankyou to Greg & Choccy for making this trip so memorable. You both are truly an asset to KOT.

Some tips from our point of view would be that "The list of items required for a safe challenging experience should be highlighted as compulsory. e.g. head torches, wet shoes & solid walking shoes preferably boots to protect ankles. "
Also the inclusion of warm clothes edpecislly a jacket and warm night time PJ'S are essential. Even a beanie for those cooler nights in the glamping tents.

Also, thanks for this feedback regarding the items to bring to ensure your safety and comfort. Although suggested in the packing tips, we will ensure there is a little more emphasis put on the importance of such items. We hope to see you again soon. Regards David

Re: Ultimate Kimberley Tour (August 9, 2024) With Greg and Choccy
3300 km covered in 13 days with something different every day. Greg & Choccy kept us well entertained throughout the tour with their knowledge of the Kimberley (and its history) & their great stories. Highlights for us were Horizontal Falls, Emma Gorge, Bungle Bungles and Tunnel Creek, but everything on the itinerary was well worth visiting even with the corrugated and bumpy roads! Greg expertly handled those roads and multiple water and river crossings. We were in safe hands throughout.
Choccy prepared excellent “on the road” lunches and kept us well informed with what to expect for each day.
Breakfasts and dinners were excellent and varied. Accomodation was very good and well chosen… but bear in mind that you are in remote areas.
Would highly recommend KOT!

What a wonderful tour. Every day brought something different, whether it be a picturesque gorge, chasm, cave or water hole. We certainly had the trip of a lifetime with terrific accommodation and meals along the way. Our hostess, Georgia, had a great knowledge of all the areas we visited and her storytelling based on her own and others’ experiences, very much helped to make this a great and memorable experience. Our coach driver, JW, also told us many tales of his experience in this part of Australia and was a great asset in ensuring the trip ran to schedule and in keeping us safe on all the road surfaces we encountered. Our group of 16 got on really well together thanks to Georgia’s and JW’s organisational skills and great humour and locations they enabled us to visit.
I would certainly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to really see and feel the Kimberley.

Did the Broome to Perth 'Jewels of the West Coast & Pilbara Tour' with Greg and Choccy. Both guides are very knowledgeable about the terrain, the flora & fauna and the people of every town/region they pass through. Their experience and passion for their work was very evident. We were particularly impressed by how well everything was organised, their attention to detail re: comfort and safety and how they looked out for everyone's needs. We had great food and comfortable accommodation from beginning to end... cannot complain about anything (except perhaps putting on too much weight!!!). Even the packed lunches when we were in remote areas were fresh and tasty. Equally important, we had a great group. Everyone got on well and we had lots of laughs, facilitated by the funny anecdotes shared by our guides. Thank you Greg and Choccy for a great and memorable trip!!! We packed in loads!

Did the Jewels of the West Coast and Pilbara Tour Broome to Perth with Kimberley Overland Tours. This was a great experience - best available accommodation, comfortable 4WD bus and a small friendly group of 18. We now have lasting memories of a first-rate trip based on a varied and well planned itinerary. We have in the past done a number of outback tours with different companies and can say that KOT was right up there with the best of them. Our multi-talented driver/ hosts Angie and Alex really ensured everything worked well. Recommended.

I have just completed the 14 day Broome to Broome trip. What an amazing experience.
I was totally impressed by the way the tour was organised, while dealing with late rain causing renewed flooding of the area. This company went the extra mile to ensure we did not miss anything that was on the comprehensive itinerary.
Tour leader Choccy certainly knows her stuff and our more than competent driver JW has vast knowledge of the area and kept us well informed (and amused)!!
The Kimberley is a beautiful part of our country and I would have no hesitation in recommending KOT. to deliver that wonderful experience.

We were booked to do 14 day Broome to Broome tour but pulled out after day 3. The tour was meant to be guided and at least if the itinerary booked was not going to be followed we would have received communication about the changes but this was not the case. We did receive a refund of most of the trip and were returned to Broome where we organized our own tours.
The company is understaffed due to general staff shortages in WA but this does not remedy us not having a Guide, our concerns not addressed as they were raised with the Driver/ messenger or receiving what we had booked. We understand a Guide joined the group for the last 4 days.
It's a shame numerous people in the group , some travelling from USA were disappointed not to learn about Australia.

Hi Pricilla, We are sorry for your experience. Our understanding is that resourcing constraints, as you pointed out, were a big part of this. Now under new management and with COVID behind us, we look forward to getting more of the 5 star reviews of the past. Regards

We did the 9 day Taste of The Kimberley Tour. The driver and guide were an excellent team, their experience and knowledge of this vast, remote and beautiful region was exceptional. The program and accommodation were very well chosen, we always felt we were in good hands. Keep in mind the distances to travel between the destinations were long, but it's worth it, there were so many highlights, all in all a great experience.

We did a Broome to Broome 14 day tour which included travelling the Gibb Road (mainly dirt roads) and returning via the Great Northern Highway. It was a fabulous itinerary and we thorough enjoyed the trip. So many great places/experiences included in this tour! The accomodation and food certainly surpassed our expectations. The great accomodation at Gygnet Bay, seaplane and Horizontal Falls overnight, stunning scenery, Mt Hart and the exceptional food and service, the stars!, beautiful Bell Gorge, stunning Galvan Gorge, Emma Gorge at El Questro ( sadly we missed Zebedee Springs but unexpected things happen on these outback tours) , fabulous Ord River cruise at Kununurra, amazing Bungle Bungles, Tunnel Creek (where we actually had to swim a little as the water was unusually high due to recent rain) ……. So many wonderful memories!! One thing I would say is you do have to be physically fit to do many of the ‘walks’ as they actually involve more of rock scrambling than walking. We were lucky to be able to do these gorge walks but many on our tour could not participate. Greg’s driving ability was fantastic and the guiding info was very good. We had a great bunch of fellow travellers which helped make it even more enjoyable. We have done lots of travelling overseas but would highly recommend this trip to anyone, who is flexible, and keen to explore WA’s wonderful Kimberley area. Thanks KOT.
