Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very disappointing to stand there for for 20 minutes waiting for service. A young girl came out from the office and said she would get someone to help us as there were 5 groups waiting. We waited another 10 minutes and left. The couple in front of us were booking a camel ride. They were still booking a camel ride when we left. 30 minutes to book a camel ride? We googled souvenir shop and got our coolers for $5 each saving $9 a cooler.

As first time visitors to Broome, it was a wonderful heartwarming welcome we experienced at the centre. The lady Martine (hope it is correct) was informative, had local knowledge and new the locals. She suggested a few places to visit and booked our scenic flight to Horizontal Falls (last 2 places). Thank you for the friendliness that made us feel welcome.

The line was out the door with people wanting information. Some of the people behind the counter were not that productive. ie. giving one person half an hour of attention with two staff attending to the one, whilst 20 other people were waiting.

Thank you for your feedback. We have experienced quite a different demand this year due to the current situation with tourism and travel. Our staff always do our best to assist visitors are quickly and efficiently as possible, and it is likely one of our staff was training a new employee. We apologise that this time you were left waiting longer than usual.

We travel quite a bit and visited the centre to ask about local attractions which included the crocodile park. The lady at the centre told us it "was ****" and don't waste our time. We are travelling with friends from the East and decided to go anyway. We found the park very interesting and our guide Wade was super informative with a great sense of humour. As we make a visitor's centre our first stop in new places we were really taken aback by the attitude and lack of interest here. Every single centre we have been to have been so informative and helpful. Very disappointed by this visitor's centre to say the least.

Hi Carmel. Your review has been passed onto management. We are huge supporter's of the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and we book many guests on tours there and also for self drive admission. We will work harder to ensure that your experience is not repeated. Thank you for the feedback.

Popped in to ask for some information and was assisted by an extremely pleasant and helpful young Lady. She gave us all the information we needed and a few suggestions as well which were very helpful. She arranged bookings for us and ensured that we were understood everything about the tour before we left. A HUGE thank you to Shine for her assistance and professionalism all done in a cheerful and happy manner.

We booked a few activities through the Visitor Centre but were disappointed to miss others as they were still not opened due to COVID 19 concerns. Waited a long time in line but watched other people successfully pushing in. I guess that can happen anywhere.

This chick is really good. She made sure that we were well informed on the tours we had picked out. She booked those tours on the spot, made sure those tours were available on the days we were in town for & phoned the tour operators to get any extra info we had enquired about.

We came here with a simple question. What is there to do in Broome. Centre worker couldn't have been more apathetic. We asked about the bird park, we'd heard of and we're regaled with details of the death of the owner, bird park closed down. No information about tours around Broome. Basically - it's boring, go to Cable Beach and have a liquid lunch! So we did!

Hi Judith. Thank you for taking the time to review the Broome Visitor Centre. Broome used to have an amazing bird park out at 12 Mile, and yes, it did close down due to the death of the owner who was involved in tourism for many years.
Our centre is filled with brochures to browse through and our experienced staff are available at the counter to assist you to book tours in Broome. Sometimes, it does depend on the time of day you come into the centre as to what tours are available at short notice.
November is tropical season in Broome, so some operators have finished up for the season. There are still lots of things to do and many tours operational at this time. We recommend during low season travellers and visitors should come into the visitor centre early to see what is on over the next few days (as some tours do not run daily). We hope you enjoyed your lunch at Cable Beach and had a nice time in Broome.

Whats the best tour you can do to see most things in a day like the kimberleys and gorge, Fitzroy crossing that will be memorable?

It's unrealistic to try to visit the Kimberley in a day due to the big distances involved. I rented a car over two days and visited Roebuck bay, Cable Beach and the town. But it sounds like the aircraft option maybe your best bet.

Our cruise ship docks from 9am and departs at 7pm. on Thursday,, March 23. This is our first time in Broome and would appreciate some advice on the highlights of Broome and how to access these highlights.
Written 7 February 2017
Cable Beach is a must, great for tourists and locals with 4WD's. Admire the sunset either from the beach or back on board the ship, depending on the time it sets. There is camel rides on the beach at sunset too, but they may return to late for you to get on board the ship. The city centre offers heaps of things to do like the old open air outdoor cinema (complete with deck chairs), pearl luggers museum, shops, food/restaurants and bars, try Matso's Mango Beer plus other brews brewed in Broome, historic museums, jetties/wharves, statues and buildings. Shop for pearls or sandalwood in several stores around town. All of these are in walking distance of each other, or there are regular buses. During the week on a Thursday afternoon they have markets, plus more on the weekend. Around at the lighthouse there is dinosaur footprints only visible at extremely low tides. If you're into photography this area is beautiful with its bright red dirt and clear aqua blue water, stunning beaches & amazing sunsets.

I'm travelling to Broome via cruise ship arriving on 31 Oct 2016 and would like to do a sunset camel ride. The cruiseship reservations for camel rides are full so which company is best to use that will also provide transportation to and from the ship?

I wish to rent a 4WD or SUV to drive to Cape Leveque from Broome in June.
On line agencies only seem to allow 100 kilometre per day in their daily charge. Yet the road is over 200 km each way.
Is there any agency in Broome that rents unlimited kms SUV or 4 WD or older 4WDs without a surcharge for additional kilometres ?
I understand that the road is rough and only 4WDs are advised. Is this correct ?
Thank you
Robert

Hi Robert,
To be honest with you I didn't do any 4wd'ing but I can suggest to you, give the Information centre a call, they were fabulous when I was organising things to see and do as most tours when I arrived had ended. I went in and they suggested a stack of things to do when i found that the tours season was pretty much over.
It would definitely be worth your while giving them a call. They know their stuff. Ask for Heather!!
Apologies that I couldn't help you any more.
Good luck you will love it which ever way you get there!!

Hi, is there a bus from the cruise ship port to the town center? And how do I get a timetable?
Written 10 February 2015
Hi John, if you are on a cruise the operator organises buses to and from the cruise. They should give you details on-board. Otherwise there is no bus between the town and the Port.

Hi there, we are thinking about travelling to Broome probably end of May/June.Is that a good time to visit? we will have 2 friends from the Netherlands with us. What is the best way to get around to see all the best attractions. There would be 4 of us all seniors (I have JUST become a senior, Ha Ha). The others are all in their early to mid 70's but are very fit and healthy. Not sure how long we would stay but maybe 2 weeks. We are also interested in a Kimberley Cruise (but not the ocean cruise part). Look forward to your reply. Regards, Julie
