We nearly missed out on this spectacular place going there ti kill a bit of time before our flight. Thank goodness we did because it was such a beautiful place and we could have stayed much longer. The scenery is simply spectacular, the rocks, contrasting with the blue waters, simply amazing. Tide was in so we didn't get to see the dinosaur footprints, but we were blown away from what we did see. A real place of beauty. We will definitely stay a lot longer when next in Broome

Wear sensible shoes and be prepared to clamber down the rocks and you will be rewarded with an ancient landscape that glows in the sunset.
Or go at (very) low tide and see several sets of dinosaur footprints.
Close to town and easy to get to.

People come here for the dinosaur footprints, but really that's just an aside. The rock formations are awesome. There are some replica dinosaur footprints (that could easily be missed) and that's enough. The rocks and colours are well worth the trip without the real prints.

Pretty spot, but looks like a parking lot! Crowded with 4 wheel drives & boats but so interesting to watch.
Courtesy & patience seemed to avail. The red rocks section looks spectacular as the sun shines on them & gives a great contrast against the blue sky. Well worth a visit.

Gantheaume Point is a must see when visiting Broome. It has redstone cliffs which contrast with the white sandy beach and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Where did the name come from? It was named after a French explorer who thought it was an island. Supposedly, you can see dinosaur footprints at low tide. However, theres is a plaster cast made of them that embedded in the top of the cliff. Its sheer beauty offers a perfect photo op.

We walked (regularly) from Ganteaume Point early each morning. Took the bus there, and walked along the beach back to Cable Beach. Great start to the day! Occasionally stopped along the way for a quick dip, or collapsed on the sand and enjoyed the sun, or heading back for a much needed breakfast!

The car hire people told us about this beach and supplied us with 3 chairs and an esky so we could go and spend an evening down there. Lots of 4 wheel drives etc down there with lots of very well behaved dogs and lovely atmosphere. We swam and walked the beach then took loads of photos of the sunset !

We went on the 1st bus if the day which dropped us to the end of the beach ( Minyirr Park) After walking about 200 metres to the lighthouse direction we got to the stone formations or sand dunes. I just loved the colours around there. Blue sea, light house and red yellow colour stones. We walked up between bushes a narrow trail and onto road and walked all the way to lighthouse. Early in the morning is not low tide so didn’t look for dinosaur footprints. We walked back to cable beach about 5k

Great spot on the coast with rock faces, deep red earth and even dinosaur prints. You honestly feel like you are on Mars - bright red and surreal rock formations. Out of town so bring water with you as no shops nearby. The bus runs early morning drops out to here on certain days, then we walked back along the beach to Cable bay and the resorts.

If your up for a bit of a walk and climbing around rocks this is this the place to go! If you go during low tide you can even Climb down to see the original fossilised dinosaur footprint!! It is a bit of a hike down and surrounded by pools of water. If you are not down to do the climb or arrive in high tide, you can do a bit of fishing and no worries you can still see dinosaur footprint replicas placed at the very top in a nice safe location and distance from the ocean. Have fun it’s an amazing place!
