I booked this trip with KWE as it included the Mitchell Plateau, which many other companies don’t offer in their itineraries. Mitchell Falls is an absolute must if you are travelling to this part of the world – the included helicopter transfer back to camp from the falls was incredible. Words cannot adequately describe the magic of this place!

The days never felt rushed even though we packed in a lot – hikes, waterfalls, swimming, rock art sites, etc. The optional helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles is absolutely worth the extra money – one of many highlights of the trip.

Our guides, Jesse and Gareth, made a great team and their energy and passion for the Kimberley was evident every day. The meals the guys prepared were delicious with such a variety (I’ve never eaten so well when camping!).

Everything on this tour was timed to perfection – having a great group of tour mates definitely helped in this area; everyone was more than willing to pitch in and help out others when required. We had a few people who had never been camping before and to see their confidence grow during the trip was great. I recommend anyone doing this tour takes the opportunity to sleep in their swag under the stars, especially at the Bungle Bungles camp (it is a perfect place).

As a solo traveller, I made lifelong friends from this trip which was just an added bonus to an already amazing adventure.

Thank you KWE for your incredible itinerary that made the trip feel like an absolute breeze and to Jesse and Gareth for always keeping everything on track. I wish I could go back and do it all again! :)

Thank you for taking the time to write an comprehensive review of our 14 day Kimberley Trail tour. We really do appreciate the review and we are very lucky to have Jesse and Gareth as part of our team. As a solo traveller it can be a great way to make new friends, just like you did :)

we had an amazing experience to the kimberleys with 2 very competent guides in Kaito and Clancy. Kaito did all the driving and she was a great safe driver (handled 2 issues expertly, broken suspension springs and a tyre blow out)
As a small group of 9 rubber necks we were privileged to have them to ourselves. Food was abundant and by cooked by Clancy (and Kaito for the first 2 days).
Kaito's commentary on the tour was just enough without being over loaded with information.
amazing sites from cygnet bay pearl farm right up to the bungle bungles. the trekking to all the gorges was worth it.
What an experience to meet Bec an aboriginal guide from the bungles, she joined us for 2 nights at dinner time, her stories were full of interest and humour, she performed a smoking ceremony on each one of us and found it to be very relaxing.
this camping adventure with kimberley wild was way above our expectations and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We did the 14 Day Kimberley Trail including the Mitchell Plateau. It was a fantastic experience. The sights and activities were interesting and a lot of fun: the gorges, waterholes and waterfalls, the scenery, the rock art were all great to see. Mitchell falls, the rock art at Munurru and the Bungle Bungles at Purnululu NP were standouts. Swimming in water holes and rivers, walks through spectacular landscapes (not too long, but some clambering over rocks required), the short helicopter ride back to camp at Mitchell falls, the cruise at Danggu/Gieke Gorge were great inclusions, and optional extras such as the sunset cruise on Lake Argyle and Helicopter rides at the Bungle Bungles were also great. Accomodation was generally good, especially at Kimberley Wild's own lodge at Punululu, and where we didn't have to put up our own tents. The nights we had do that tested us a little, but the equipment was good and we had great support from our guides. There were plenty of bumps along the Gibb River Road, the Kalumburu Road, and the road into Purnululu, but the bus was as comfortable as could be, and that is the nature of the Kimberley after all! We travelled with a group of like-minded people who had the same interests and approach to travel as us and they were great travelling companions. But the absolute stand outs were our two guides, Caitlin and Jess. They did the driving, and their expertise and empathetic approach meant we were always well-informed, prepared for the day's activities and generally seeing things at the best possible time of day. Their extensive knowledge of the Kimberley and its people helped us to understand the nature of the region and the cultures of it peoples. The food they prepared was a real standout, a variety of dishes from different cuisines that we never expected to eat in the bush! It was amazing what they did with some basic equipment - especially a camp oven! The trip provided a really good insight into this wonderful and challenging part of Australia.

This was a great adventure. We are aged 74 and 75 and reasonably fit and this was our first camping tour, so we chose the Camping Plus option. The tent accommodations, and linen provided, were clean and comfortable. Maybe take a small pillow. You experience one night sleeping in a swag on the ground. The Camping Plus nights had ensuite and/or aircon. The shared toilets and showers were clean and always close to the campsite. The food was amazing!!!! Our tour guide and driver, Clancy, and tour assistant Jasmine, were exceptional! Very knowledgeable, professional, excellent cooks, and lots of fun. The walks were all fantastic and in some cases challenging, but worth it. Clancy and Jazz kept us fully informed of time and degree of difficulty of each days activity’s and assisted wherever needed.
We recommend the options of Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise and helicopter over the Bungle Bungles.
You are in for a treat with this tour. Join in and have fun!!

We’ve just returned from the first 5 day Broome to Bungle Bungles for the 2022 season, I am still in awe of the magnificent country we witnessed, the wonderful, talented & inspirational local guides we met (Edwin, Ronnie & Charmaine) & most crucial to the entire experience of course, Clancy, Fred & their newest recruit Emma. Clancy expertly kept us in line & on time, drove Percy expertly over the challenging Spring Creek road (to the appropriate music) , cooked up copious healthy, tasty food each day, kept us entertained, all whilst remaining incredibly calm. We will miss his enthusiastic waving to passing traffic. Fred co drove & cooked with French flair, gave us a lot of joy with his endless Kimberley stories, dad jokes, expert information on termites 😁, and steadfast dedication to keeping us safe & happy. Emma was lovely & she also showed the boys that she could handle that truck on some gnarly tracks. The only regret we had is that we didn’t follow through with my cunning plan to highjack “Percy” & the amazing crew & keep going instead of returning! We could have become another tale of the Kimberley’s, however we decided the crew deserved a break & that their families & the boss may become unduly concerned. We WILL return, this was just a reconnaissance mission & we’ll be wanting the same crew but for a longer trip next time xxx

Clancy and Adam are the best tour guides you will ever have! They made the trip an amazing adventure with loads of food, fun and tonnes of laughter. Clancy’s local history, knowledge and cultural sensitivity made it very special.
I would recommend doing all the optional activities and definitely jump in every gorge, billabong or lake 🤣
Highly recommend the 13 day tour.

My husband and I went on a day trip to Windjarra gorge and Tunnel Creek. We had booked well in advance. Unfortunately when we got on, there were two seats left but not together. If you book as a couple you should have seats reserved together. We spent at least 10 hours just on the bus and I ended up sitting with a sullen young woman, who didn't speak to me the whole day. So booking numbered
seats on the bus would be a bonus.
Windjarra gorge was spectacular. We saw freshwater crocs. The bus sat for an hour, we had a really nice lunch of sandwiches and chose our own fresh salad ingredients. When we went to move it was super hot - over 40, the bus was hot inside, of course and the Aircon did nothing to cool it down on the way to Tunnel Creek. I was very close to fainting. Tunnel Creek was fascinating and a real adventure to wade through and see bats etc. The aboriginal history was explained by the guide. On the way out of Tunnel Creek the guide disappeared to prepare afternoon tea, while some short, old people, were struggling to climb out. The last 4 of us, had to help one lady up, who was close to giving up. Surely the priority should be making sure all your passengers are safe, not cutting up watermelon! Guide seemed to have a lady friend on board - free trip? Anyway, she could've been preparing afternoon tea. I'm a bit shocked by lack of care of customers. However, over all - enjoyed the day out into the Kimberley Region.

Hi Judith, Thank you for taking the time to review our tour to Windjana Gorge & Tunnel Creek. Unfortunately, it is hard with the seating arrangements when you are one of the last pick-ups, but you did have an opportunity to discuss with your Tour Leader at your morning tea stop at Willare Roadhouse if you wanted to change seats. Travelling in October in the Kimberley is hot, and we always tell people to expect up to 40 degrees when travelling out to this region. I do try and convey what the fitness levels are required when talking to people, as the entrance to Tunnel Creek can be challenging. I am glad that you enjoyed Windjana Gorge and the resident freshwater crocodiles make it even more special

Must be the best Kimberleys Tour company around, fantastic experience!
My wife and I did the 14 day tour of the Kimberleys with Kimberley Wild.
I am normally not a group guided tour person, but this experience was fantastic.
Our two guides Dan and Linsey were unbelievably good. Brilliant drivers, guides, coooks, friends you name it.
The 20 seater 4x4 bus was brand new and fantastically equipped.
We saw all the sights you could imagine, was fed until bursting with lovely food prepared by the two of them.

Note you are expected to pitch in and help cook, walk, put your own tent up, repack the truck etc, but it’s all great fun.
The accommodation was very good ranging from permanently set up camp sites to sleeping in a swag under the stars in a caravan park.
The walks we did were excellent to places like Tunnel,Creek, Mitchell Falls, Manning Falls etc.
I never thought I’d happily cross a “neck deep” river but these guys were fantastically supportive and encouraging.

What I can’t believe is what you get for the price of their holidays, they are 1/2 the cost of the “Big Companies” like APT or Outback Spirit but the value with Kimberley Wild is unsurpassed.
I would happily go with them again.

My husband and I had a great time on the 14-day tour with Jesse and Gareth. These guides went above and beyond for our group of 19 with a great menu, excellent commentary and we even left on time everyday! The trip included hikes, lots of waterfalls and swimming holes, rock art, campfires and camping. The guides made sure everyone had a great time and no one was left behind! We were so lucky that our group got along great and we came home with new friends :)

We are not expert campers but the provided tents, swags and linen boosted our confidence and had us feeling like pros at the end. We didn’t have to put up our tents every night as some sites had pre-built canvas tents and stretcher beds. The Bungle Bungle camp was definitely a favourite!

The 14-day itinerary includes Mitchell Plateau which was our favourite part and well worth the extra few days! The falls are extraordinary and the heli trip back to camp was one for the memory bank!

My husband and I recently completed the 13 day Kimberly Wild adventure and it was a trip of a lifetime. The camping aspect of the tour meant that we were amongst the grass roots of all that the Kimberly region had to offer. Both of our tour guides were unbeleivably skilled and knowledgable. Jessicas calm nature exuded a sense of control and Savannahs enthusiasm and laughter brightened our mood when the curve balls from the Kimberly region were thrown at us; Covid, tyres blown, broken wrist from a slip, and Air con hose blown. In every case Jess and Savannah ensured that we were not delayed in our itinerary and if possible added extra experiences for us along the way. Jessica found positive in every adversity, embracing late sunsets when we were running a bit late due to a blown tyre and was up at 3-00 am to ensure we enjoyed early morning sunrise at the Bungle Bungles and got the very best out of every day. The Kimberly region is amazing, however the experiencewas made even better because of the enthusiastic, capable and knowledgeable duo of tour leaders, Jessica and Savannah.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of our 13 day Kimberley Explorer tour. Whilst you certainly had some curveballs on your tour, your positive attitude as well as the capabilities of our wonderful guides Jasmine and Savannah ensured you all had a great time exploring the Kimberley region.
