So even if it means getting a sore bum sitting on a camel saddle whilst going at a very slow rate, it is still worth the experience. You should however do the sunset ride as this is a slightly longer ride and the atmosphere at the near sunset is always magic. This company offers a pre-drink, mounting/demounting via a stepped ramp and lovely energetic and knowledgeable guides that walk along side the camels giving you everything you need to know about the camel you are riding or about camels in general. The only negative is the fact that at this time of day, the beach is packed with vehicles and it feels like the camels are negotiating Sterling Highway in Perth at peak hour or going through one of Perth's open city car parks.

Booked this online which was quick & easy. We went on the 1 hour sunset ride which I would highly recommend; staff were great, very professional & well organised- loved the welcome drink (either champagne or beer). Camels were gorgeous, you can have your photos taken professionally or staff will take photos using your own camera/phone. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Oh my goodness this was such an amazing experience! We were recommended this company by friends and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We chose the sunset camel tour and boy was it worth it for the incredible photos we got. It was so easy to get on the camels as they have a set of stairs on the back of a car to allow you to just step over so the camels don’t need to get up and down. Lovely surprise of starting off with a complimentary drink of bubbles before we started our bumpy journey. It takes a while to adjust to the bumpinesses but we had a beautiful camel called mustafa. It was a very hot ride so make sure you have a hat and drink lots of water. We got the most sensational photos as the guides really knew where to position the sun setting on the camel and we walked in front of all the 4wds so they weren’t interrupting our view like mentioned in another review. I suppose it just depends on the day you go as the camels took off on the journey way before the cars started parking up for the sunset. This was the cheapest touristy thing we did on our holiday but I think by far it was one of my favourite things I did! Definitely recommend spending that bit more for the sunset time slot

Proposal gone wrong. I contacted John , the owner of Red sun camels about proposing to my partner on the camel ride on the beach with the sunset.
John assured me that a professional photographer would be there to capture the moment for me and of course I paid a professional photographer price.
Well let's just say the 1 video I received is nothing short of terrible. My son could of done better with my phone.. ..the whole thing was extremely unprofessional and not what I had asked for.
You only get that one moment in life and I stressed to them so much about the photos and I received a blurry, shaky, windy, unsteady video and not one photo of the moment.
I highly recommend never using this company for a proposal or at all. It was over priced, unprofessional and my camera I use for our family photos was 100 times better than there $500 Big W camera.
The camels never even walked on the water or near the sunset.
The whole experience was an absolute disaster, not to mention when I called John politely expressing how i felt about the photos he was rude and had no interest in trying to make the situation any better!
They only charge $40 for a photo pack for others but charged me absolutely through the roof for a couple of shadow filled photos on a camel and an unusable video.
Thanks red sun camels for ruining our moment!

Very family budget friendly, offers pre sunset half hour rides for half the cost of the sunset ride.
Whilst a sunset ride would have been amazing, my kids would not have appreciated it enough.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The admin send lots of reminders about your booking, which is good on holidays, because everyday feels like Saturday.
Camels are respected and well cared for.

My fiancé and I went on the sunset tour. It was very easy to find and they happily looked after our bags for us while we were on the camel ride. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival which was lovely. They have a platform for you to get onto the camels from so that the camels don’t have to bend down and makes the whole process easy. We were seated at the front of the camels on a beautiful boy called Bert. No need to wear shoes either which was great. The guides were very informative and answered all our questions. They took lots of photos for us which turned out very well! It was great to go at sunset when the weather was slightly cooler and we got the longer ride. We were returned back just as the sun was setting and in time for dinner up at the Cable Beach restaurant afterwards. Highly recommend - one of our favourite experiences in Broome.

We were told the camels didn’t smell ... was the recommendation. Which put us on notice but so very true. They didn’t. We made a telephone booking as I didn’t want to have any confusion as to where to meet, how early we needed to be etc etc. Specific instructions were given and everything went perfectly. The crew were so very friendly, guided us, offered to take pictures and apart from the “bumpiness” of the ride, this was the perfect finish to a fantastic Broome holiday, our last excursion before departing the next day. The biggest thanks goes to Wangi our camel who apparently tends to try and head for a swim if allowed (no chance with our guide) so hope he does get a treat after this review. Also, good work to the handlers and rest of the crew. Thanks again.

The tour guides were very good at taking photos on my own device so I had record of me doing the camel rides. I loved the sunset and it was great that we could ride at the sunset along the beach. I would recommend that there was a little bit more and better sign posting around the beach saying where to meet for the camels because there was not a lot of it and there are also different camel tours with different names. They were very informative with giving instructions on how to climb onto the camels safely. I bought many souvenirs and I liked the souvenirs.

My husband and I had a fabulous camel ride. The camels and staff are a very friendly bunch. They were very helpful as to getting into the saddle and exiting. It was done via a platform rather than get the camels to sit. Kinder on the animals and I suspect the humans as well. The staff walking beside us gave a history and temperament of the camel we were on and answered any questions we had. And were happy to take photos of us. Great thing to do in Broome.

Loved being up front on the first camel. Guide leading wasn't very chatty to start which was fine as I was just enjoying the view and gentle rocking motion from the camel. She engaged in conversation a wee bit but sure she could tell I was happy to just soak up the experience quietly 😆 Other guide was very chatty and knowledgeable. A really lovely tour, I look forward to bringing friends next time!

Hi Marlee
Red Sun Camels has recently increased our maximum weight per person from 90 to 100kg, as we are now loading passengers from a platform which makes it easier on the camels and the passengers.
