Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The mangrove experience with Bart was excellent. Learning about Indigenous history and relationship with the mangroves in a very interactive and relaxed environment was a life experience. Bart is an excellent communicator and I highly recommend this tour to everyone that visits Broome.

This is a must experience for every visitor to Broome. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot about the Yawuru culture. Bart is an excellent tour guide with a vast knowledge on country, its stories and its people. Learning about the history and passing on the knowledge is so important. Collecting cockles and cook them on the fire was a very special experience. They were delicious too! Thank you, Bart! Claudia

This was a great experience. Bart was a great guide and was so knowledgeable about the area and its history. I learned so much about the mangroves and surrounds, and ventured into places I never would have without a guide. Bart provides diving shoes so you feel very comfortable walking through the mangroves. I would highly recommend this tour to others.

Bart was so knowledgeable about the local history, both ancient indigenous and more recent Asian and European migration.
This great ecotour covered the mangrove areas of Roebuck Bay, and we learnt how important mangroves are as fish and invertebrate nurseries, and also being a natural seawater cleaning system.
We also got to cook and taste bush tucker on the beach.
Highly recommended for adults and children alike. We all had fun!

Amazing tour. Highly recommend to all who come to Broome. The highlight was trying the seafood that we caught and cooked.

Bart and Johnno were knowledgeable tour guides. We took the afternoon tour and walked past many different types of mangroves. We saw all sorts of wildlife (no crocs thankfully!!!) including a beautiful turtle. Lucky for the reef boots as we were exploring in squelchy mud. A really different experience, we finished on sunset and walked back up to our starting point opposite Matso's. Thanks Bart!

What a wonderful adventure - we saw stairway to the moon after a low tide meander. Bart played two of his father's songs on the guitar as we watched the super moon creep up the sky and we felt a profound connection to the land, animals and Aboriginal history around us.

We loved this tour. Very informative and we were able to ask many questions. Shoes were provided, which was great as we trekked through the mangroves and mud. Great to hear some history around the early pearling days. Loved collecting some shellfish and Bart cooked it up on an open fire for us to try. Highly recommend any tour offered by this company.

Bart is a legend, he got my daughter to eat a snail, which was delicious by the way. Very informative, Broome has so much to offer, so many layers of history and this tour showed us the oldest one ( apart from the dinosaurs). The mud was fun especially for the 10 year old.

I am wondering if mud crabs are caught and kept for later consumption on the mangrove tour. Thanks very much

Hi Cindy,
I don't actually offer the crabbing experience on the mangrove tour. There are a couple mud crab holes that I demonstrate how to look for a mud crab but because it is unsustainable to take a mud crab every tour, I don't. If the opportunity presents itself and I come across a mud crab and I am hungry, as a traditional owner of the Broome area I am inclined to catch and cook ;-)
