We were walking around Melbourne and visited this bar for lunch. After a long walk out to the sports venues, this place really hit the spot. Friendly staff, an interesting lunch/snack menu, good range of drinks, and great views of the Melbourne skyline, the trams, and the MCG. It's very convenient for all the transport including river trips. It has a lift, making it accessible for all. Not the cheapest place you'll visit, but the ambience made it worth it for us.

Stopped in after dinner to catch a set on the rooftop. Staff helped us get a small table inside. The band was very good playing mix of blues.

Still an amazing place to watch Melbourne life go by especially when the sun is out like late today but their prices seem to be elevated almost as high as the bar. Quite expensive which isn't good considering the state of the bar - needs cleaning and some basic maintenance.

Located in Federation square, the Transport hotel is well located. upstairs to the rooftop bar. Views of most of melbourne Sporting complex, to your left yarra river and gardens.. and to your right, The Art centre and southbank promenade. Great craft beers & Local wines. Great atmosphere. So much fun.

My cousin surprised me to say that her fiance' and herself were visiting Melbourne from the ACT over the Australia Day long weekend! I suggested we meet for lunch at Transit Rooftop Bar so they could take in the atmosphere and have a clear view of activities. We all could not have enjoyed every experience more!! Firstly, the weather was perfect to enjoy Al Fresco dining/drinking. Secondly, we were fortunate enough to encounter a fantastic waiter "Jonas" who was shy at first however quickly participated in our appreciative banter!! Jonas was very polite, knowledgable and consistent with his very professional and timely service!! So thank you again Jonas! Thirdly, we enjoyed delicious beer on tap and varieties of red and white wine!! Next, we decided to try a few of the dishes on the menu, namely the Roasted Cauliflower with Caramelised Miso & varieties $12, Tempura Bug Tails with Sesame Yuzu Mayonnaise $14 and Shoestring Fries with Sriracha Salt $12 x two. All very enjoyable however the hands down winner was the cauliflower dish = AWESOME!! Lastly, we were thoroughly entertained by a solo musician playing her guitar and an incredible voice, singing familiar songs we could all chime in with. A little bit of dancing also ensued. To sum up our day - BRILLIANT ALL ROUND!!
