We had the best time in the Hunter Valley thanks to Sightseeing Tours Australia and particularly our guide Greg. Organising the trip was easy as they are very accommodating and the day itself was absolutely great. Great wines, spirits, liqueurs, chocolates, and cheeses were waiting for us, and everyone also enjoyed food during our lunch stop. Best Xmas Party ever and I can highly recommend booking a tour with Sightseeing Tours Australia - thank you!

In summary, the communication from the reception team was good and the driver did give us clear information, so no faults with the staff themselves. However, the long journey in a cramped minivan and underwhelming “filler” attractions made the trip hard for my partner and I to enjoy. We were squashed in at the back with several other people and it got very tedious very quickly, juggling our bags and coats and shuffling in our seats after each stop off point. The views from Nobbies Centre weren’t bad but the various stops in San Remo, Cowes and the wildlife centre just wasn’t worth the time and made the journey longer than it needed to be. The general consensus among the group seemed to be that we just wanted to get on to the main attraction. It’s a long day after all and your patience can easily wear thin. I imagine this would be even more true if you had young children with you. It was nice to see the penguins of course, when we finally arrived. But it wasn’t quite as memorable as we had hoped and isn’t something we would do again. To set the expectation, you will be waiting in the cold by the beach until around 9pm before the penguins actually start making noticeable movements. Definitely a good idea to bring a thick jacket, beanie and even a blanket to make the wait more comfortable. As a side note, you end up getting a better view of the little critters on the way to the exit, via the boardwalk. More so than the grand stands themselves. Makes the “penguin plus” option for an extra $45 almost redundant.

Hi Elliot, thanks for sharing your valuable feedback about your Philip Island tour. We understand that not all travellers will enjoy wildlife parks. May I recommend that next time you consider our Phillip Island & French Island tour, which still includes the Penguin Parade and Nobbies, but visits French Island in the first half of the day instead of Cowes, San Remo and the wildlife park. The penguins don't come out of the water until the sun has set, which means it can get cold waiting for them to appear on the beach, even on hot days. We recommend everyone brings a warm jacket on tour. The Penguin Plus may have felt redundant on your trip, but it depends how busy the Penguin Parade is. I recommend this upgrade on busy days, as the larger crowds in general viewing can make it hard to get a good view of the penguins as they come ashore. Either way, I'm please you were able to view the penguins from the boardwalks as this a memorable wildlife experience!
