Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I started taking photos many years ago with a Canon AE1 program and have never had any formal training so thought is was about time to talk to a professional and get some guidance.
So this morning, armed with my new Nikon D500 and 11 to 16 wide angle lens I very quickly realised that I should have done this years ago!
Will very quickly worked out where I was at with my photography and what I needed to do to improve, the results speak for themselves. A little less happy snaps and a little more artistic flair! I can't wait to get back out there and get some great shots.
Melbourne is a photographer heaven and with guidance from Will's vast knowledge of the city you can't fail.
Next time I'm in Melbourne I'll be sure to call him up for another course and start delving into HDR and night time shots.
Looking to improve your photography? Wanting to find all the best shots in town? Then I absolutely recommend you give him a call.

Been from Melbourne I was keen to learn more of the key places to get some great photos of our city. It was great to learn some key techniques to capture these great spots and learn more about what I can do with my camera. Well Recommended for those wanting to shoot landscape photos.

I have been to Melbourne a few times over the past few years. This time, I booked an evening photo tour with Will to get a perspective from a local and a fellow photographer.
Will was awesome. He showed me many areas to get great shots that I had not thought of. But more than that, he is a true photography professional who helps you build and improve your overall skills. I am now eager to take many of the lessons learned from Will and apply them to other locations.
To top it off, he also took some of my pictures to demonstrate how to improve them in post processing.
Thanks again Will!

I have done a couple of photocourses before but was missing the practise...this photo tour is great and 'learning by doing'. Will the guide explained everything easy and understandable. He took his time to answer any questions and explained everything to each individual. The group size was good and he took us to different sights in Melbourne CBD. I feel much more confident using my camera and had a really great time. Would recommend it to anyone who likes photography. Good for beginners and experienced 'shooters'

This photo tour shows you some of the best spots to get a great shot of Melbourne. Starting at the tourist information at Federation Square makes it very easy to join even for tourists in Melbourne. I did learn a lot about settings of my camera and explored some functions in manual mode which I didn't use in the past. The timing of the course in the late afternoon was great because it was explained how to take photos at daylight, twilight and night. Depending on the season and weather forecast I can recommend warm clothing. In addition for taking photos in twilight and night conditions a tripod is highly recommended. Afterwards seeing in a podcast how one of the taken photos gets further optimised with software on a computer is a great bonus of the tour. I can highly recommend this tour and Will, the tour guide, to anyone who is interested in taking photos outside of the automatic modus of a camera.

This photo tour is well worth it! Will, our tour guide & teacher, was amazing. For beginners he explained each camera settings very well, so I actually know how to shoot manually now! He was also able to give knowledgeable advice to the more advanced photographers in the group.
It's very central, easy to get to and Will also has some historical background about Melbourne's landmarks (this photo tour could be very interesting if you are a tourist visiting Melbourne).
When I looked at my pictures later on the computer I was impressed I finally got to use my cameras manual settings and how much better the pictures turn out. It was very convenient, informative, fun and I would highly recommend Will's tour.

Do you need a proffesional camera for this tour or is it possible to do it with an Iphone ?
Written 17 December 2015
Hi there, Sorry but I just received this question from Trip Advisor.
I think an iPhone would work for taking photos but I can't teach you some of the course fundamentals like manual camera metering as the iPhone is an automatic camera.
