Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved the tutor Nikki - she was patient, easy to talk to, instructed us as a group and individually. We didn't even manage to finish the whole circuit, as we were all keenly using our newfound manual settings.

I took the night course because I wanted to learn to use my camera better at night. Whilst I understand about the manual settings I need to be reminded so that I can learn to get the settings right quicker...rather than figuring it out so slowly that I give up and switch to auto mode out of frustration. So this course was perfect.

These guys are good, so good that I think they should consider teaching longer eg. half or full day courses. The staff are excellent and the more practice the students get in the presence of the teachers the more confident we'll become in our manual photography setting skills.

Hi Eurofriends! We're thrilled to know that you learned tons of tips and tricks in conquering manual mode. If you want to know more about capturing dynamic scenes and sunsets we highly recommend walking through St Kilda Beach or viewing Street Art from behind the lenses. Nikki said you guys were awesome during the walk :D Keep taking great photos!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the team at DJB Photography for this wonderful experience.

I really enjoyed the night photography walk and being able to experience the night-walk around Melbourne. I was able to get some awesome photos from the night-walk and was even able to learn about long exposure techniques along the way.

The instructor was so knowledgeable and very easy going which made the walk an even more enjoyable experience.

Thanks Again.

I'm sure he tutors/ guides on this tour have probably found that the majority of people are looking to be guided to points of interest in the Melbourne lane ways rather than be experimenting with camera settings. Nevertheless one can always learn something and the choice of locations was a good source of material.
Would have liked a better (rooftop) vantage point to finish with though.
Really enjoyed the lane ways street art.

I have owned my DSLR for over 12 months and have taken thousands of happy snaps - not photos. After two hours with a very patient Daniel I’m so excited as now I can take an actual photo to be proud of. Daniel taught me the basics of speed Fstop and ISO with practical practice while exploring Melbourne streets. Not once was I made to feel silly or stupid during the session - questions were always welcome. I will definitely re-book when next in Melbourne as I have so much more to learn and his experience, knowledge and professionalism is supreme. Book the tour - be open to learning - you won’t be disappointed. - FYI I purchased through trip advisor- no problems received conformation email immediately and further communication via direct text messages with Daniel.

I did the Landscape photography walk in St Kilda and it was great. Going at sunset helped cement the concepts in the changing light, and the lights at Luna Park make for fun shots of light trails. Our teacher Anthony wore fantastic socks and was patient and clever in explaining things in different ways to the different members of our group.
This was actually a Christmas present from my Mum and I would recommend to others that is a great gift idea for travellers - a great opportunity to improve their travel shots!

I had the pleasure of attending the St Kilda photo tour on Sunday the 11th of September with Etienne. He was a wealth of knowledge and as I was the only booking, I basically had a private tution! I think most other tour groups would have cancelled with only a single booking but DJB Photography Walks still went ahead.

Etienne was extremely knowledgable and courteous and I appreciated his help with the finer details of photography as well as his local expertise.

If you're in Melbourne (or any other place that DJB Photography Walks operates), go ahead and do the tour.

My husband and I were given vouchers for Christmas from our Kids and I have to say it was probably one of the best gifts we have received. We both love photography and enjoy getting out and about with our cameras however there were things we struggled with especially shooting in manual mode! We did two walks, the first was a city night shoot which we loved as we learnt how to use our manual settings at night and got some great tips! The second was the St Kilda Beach walk which I have to say was my favourite! This walk seemed to cover a lot more so we were really pleased with what we learnt. I don't think it was a better walkshop I just think the night one was more specific and limited to what could be done at night! We loved them both and would definitely consider doing more as it was good to get out and about with people who had the same interest and obviously there to learn, it was also great to be able to ask questions at the time of taking the photos and getting feedback about our shots. The other thing I love is the free Lightroom workshop! I have just watched the first module and I am looking forward to learning more as editing is the next thing I would like to tackle. I would also like to say the communication was fantastic whenever I sent an email with a question it was always answered quickly!

Heeeeey Kylie! We were super happy to see both you and your husband on both walks :) We also looooove the St. Kilda beachscape walk. We've snapped a couple of memorable photos there in the past years. Great to hear you're putting the Lightroom workshop to good use! We'd love to see some of your photos soon ;) All the best, Daniel

I've had my camera for 9 months and was desperate to stop using it on Auto!!! I was worried I would be the only one not using my camera on manual mode or the only one who didn't have a canon or nikon! Our guide made us feel so welcome and had us using manual right away! She took her time explaining what we needed and I felt I understood her clearly! I would recommend this to anyone wishing like me to get off the auto setting!

Great experience and I learnt a lot. Melbourne is my home town and although I know the city well I have never just walked around with my camera. These guys are the perfect ones to show off some of Melboune and teach some essential camera/photography skills along the way. I had the best time and have not had my camera out of my hands since. And might I add... manual all the way now woot! My walk was a full group of 8 peeps yet we all had plenty of one-on-one help along the way. Thanks Daniel. Highly recommended
