Melbourne Skydeck on a sunny day
This high rise experience was slightly difficult to find, the directions weren’t brilliant. The actual experience was good but very low key for the basic ticket, compared with towers such as those in New York. Visibility out the windows was fairly good but a lot of glare meant photos weren’t great.

    Spectacular Views and Experience
Took the "Cocktails in the Clouds" package which included admission to the Skydeck, the Voyager Theatre experience, and a cocktail at Bar 88. The Skydeck is an observation deck 88 floors up in the air where you can get 360-degree views across Melbourne. There are multiple viewfinders to help you pinpoint numerous significant landmarks around the city. The 6-D Voyager Theatre experience is where virtual reality ‘pod’ chairs take you on an immersive trip through 16 iconic Melbourne experiences that are unbelievably realistic. Finish your trip with a cocktail - what a great way to spend an afternoon.

    A wonderful experience
Enjoyed a visit to the Skydeck in Melbourne. Fantastic views and a daring experience in the "glass room". I'd certainly recommend this experience for both young and old alike. There's an area to get a drink and snacks and sitting areas so could spend hours there if desired
Thanks, Jochg2016 for the great review and feedback.

Great Views from the 88th Floor!
As part of our excursion from the Holland AMerica Noordam Cruise ship we loved tht they included the SkyDeck. The trip up was quick and the views from the 88th floor were incredible. Melbourne is a beautiful city with loads of great architecture. One thing that impressed me was the extensive use of solar panels on most the the buildings below. A very worthwhile adventure while in Melbourne!

    Surprising Skydeck
We were given a "Cocktail in the clouds" package which also included the voyager theatre experience. Sitting in our plush red "egg shell" pod chairs we settled in for out 15 minute journey through 16 iconic Melbourne locations. Awesome experience and we were advised to do this event first before enjoying our cocktails which was taken onboard & thank goodness. We enjoyed our cocktails at Bar 88 whilst admiring the scenery of Melbourne city and beyond. The time you spend at the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere is initially dependent on your own itinerary. The weather gods were on our side so we were in no hurry to leave. ( also it was not crowded) We enjoyed the 360 degree views of our city and would recommend this experience.

We decided to visit the tower on our recent trip, the trip in the elevator up 88 levels is very quick and the view is outstanding on a clear day which we had.

However the optional trip out on the 'edge' (@$12 per person) experience was very underwhelming. The frosted glass is turned off when you are out there and is completely see through in the glass box BUT the floor is hardly see through and the experience is not really any different to just standing in the normal skydeck viewing area.

The big catch is phones and cameras arent allowed and they take a photo of you out there and then you have the option of paying $15 for it.

You can take all the photos/selfies you want from the main viewing deck and they are really no different to the 'edge' experience.

Dear Kellnkeith, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are so glad to hear you had a great visit. We understand the Edge is not for everyone and we are so sorry it did not match your expectations. The reason we don't allow devices inside the Edge is as a preventive measure to protect the floor from damage and scratches. Warm regards, The Skydeck Team

We visited the Eureka Skydeck as part of a tour from a visiting cruise-ship. This was just before Conid-19 restrictions were placed on many places and activities. Although the Skydeck was very crowded at the time, it did not stop us from enjoying the superb almost 360-degree views. Many really good photographs were able to be taken, and I would recommend this place to others who seek similar photographs and expansive views.

Great place to visit, perfect during Covid as there aren’t many other people.
Look out for discounted tickets. Ours were $14 each.
I’d recommend arriving just before it gets dark so you can see the city in day and under lights.

We had already pre booked our tickets for the “entrance to the edge” experience before visiting which saved us a lot of waiting time in the ticket purchasing queues, we got to jump straight through to security. We arrived at the tower around 8:30pm as we wanted to experience the views during sunset/night. Once we got to security a staff member swapped our paper tickets for a proper ticket and pre warned us it would be around an hour and a half waiting time to experience the edge. We were able to go up to the viewing platform to wait. The views were amazing, however due to it turning dark outside the room was far too light causing there to be light reflections on all of the glass limiting your views of the city. Dimmed lighting would work so much better even if it is just turned on at night. The sky deck was far to crowded for you to fully enjoy your experience. Limiting the amount of people that go up each time would be a major improvement! There were people looking at the views, others just sat in front of the windows not allowing other people to look and due to the hour and a half wait for the entrance to the edge, there were people sat wherever they could, waiting for there entrance times which ruined the whole experience due to it being overcrowded. There is an outside balcony you are able to go outside on whilst you wait (for free) which allows you to see the views a little more clearly as it is not through smeared glass, however because you are 88 floors high it is extremely windy and cold... once we did get into the edge experience, we were quite disappointed. It was quite a drawn out experience as they tried to add to much into it which ruined the experience keep it simple and it would improve it all. You have to have your photo taken whilst you are on the edge which you do individually in your group. This is a good idea, however you are unable to see the view on any of the photos. Also whilst one group is having their photo taken, the rest of the groups have to squish themselves against other strangers along the back wall to prevent photo bombing someone else photo. Overall we did not love the experience and think improvements could be made. We did this experience on our first night in Melbourne, therefore we decided to get a taxi back to our apartment as we had no idea where we were and did not want to get lost in the dark at night. There were a queue of taxis waiting outside the building however we got refused by two of the taxis from the same company (silver top) as our destination was “too close”. We explained to them that it was our first night in the city and had no idea where we were and no internet on our phones (do to being from the uk, our 3/4G did not work) and they still refused to take us and stated that our apartment block was “just around the corner”. After walking for around 10 minutes we finally found a Woolworths which allowed us to connect to their internet for free so that we could access google maps which showed us how to get to our apartment. The taxi company refused our money because it didn’t earn them enough, however we could have ended up in a worse situation through their greed.

Thank you for your review Jessica. We want to extend our sincerest apologies concerning all the issues that you have faced during your visit. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers. Unfortunately, we are unable to use dimmed lighting on our premises for safety reasons. In regards to The Edge, we try to make the waiting time and overall experience as smooth as possible, however, we have experienced several visits on particular days due to the recent weather conditions in Melbourne and Australia. We valued your feedback and will take it on board to improve our service and operations.

Hubby and I visited the Eureka Skydeck in the afternoon and then again near sunset. It was good in the afternoon as it wasn’t too busy and we were able to see the nice views of Melbourne.
When we returned just before sunset it was bedlam and just too many people. Unfortunately people were right against the glass with their heads in their phones texting and making it hard to take any photos and enjoy Melbourne in the evening.
Overall the views were nice during the day, staff were nice but I wouldn’t bother going up at sunset again.

Thank you for your review Karen. As you can imagine, evening and sunsets are very popular during this time of the year due to the pleasant weather conditions. We are sorry you couldn't enjoy the overall experience as expected. Hoping you were still able to soak up the amazing views.

Does what it says on the tin, lift up 88 stories really fast, panoramic views of Melbourne. Then the edge experience is extra, you stand in glass box and are moved sideways out from tower, v unnerving but cool. Foto taken, pay for it after if u want it , about 15aus$. Do it, it's a once off!

Incredible views of Melbourne which allow you to plan your itinerary from above. You can circumnavigate the whole platform with helpful scopes trained on some of the main sights. Slightly overpriced but definitely worth doing on any visit to the city.

This location has super easy parking with ticket validation in gift shop. There are wonderful elevators that get you to the top. On a clear day the view is magnificent!! You can see most of the city from sea to mountains. It is welcoming to handicap with bathrooms and a snack bar to boot as well. You can send a post card from Australia’s highest mailbox!! They sell both post cards and international stamps!! There are ole ty of opportunities to use view finders, go outside, stand in glass and get your photo taken. Make sure you use the little view finders ( both child and adult height) as they focus in on specific buildings do you know what you are seeing. I really enjoyed learning the history of this building. There is a nice gift sho at the bottom in your way out.

The ticket allows to enter at least twice during a day so that one might enjoy the view over the day and take advantage of all the description and again during sunset for a more dramatic view. Well organized and reasonably priced. Probably one of the best skydeck ever visited
