Good way to start a trip to Melbourne
May 2021
Lovely location with plenty of food/drink and entertainment options before/after the wheel experience. Very friendly and efficient staff. The cabin was clean with good temperature. Commentary was funny and informative, appropriate for children. The magic photos did not turn out great- the edits were a bit cringe-worthy. The wheel is a good way to start a trip to Melbourne as it Is informative and may give you ideas for places to visit.

Great landmark in Melbourne
Apr. 2021
Great place to view the Melbourne city. The LED light display is fantastic. I suggest to go up just before sunset. The management of the queue should have been better. I had to go the end of the queue after showing my online purchased ticket and wasted at least another 15 minutes.

Great experience
My partner and I came here at 8pm on Saturday night

We had a great experience, staff very friendly and talked to you on a personal level. They made it feel seamless

We bought the ticket at the door and didn't have to wait to long in line.
But lining up to board you will need to get the about 20 minutes early. Due to covid can only let 4 to 5 people on at a time

Ticket price was $36 auzzie per person for about a 30 minute trip. We felt it was worth the experience

When you rotate about quarter of the way you see the view of the city straight away

Overall, this place would be good for families, first time tourists in Melbourne all occasions

Ps, make sure you go to the toilet before you board. Toilet located at the start of entrance behind the ticket line

Interesting view of Melbourne.
Mar. 2021
Went around 6pm on a Sunday. Signage to find the entry was a bit patchy - we just kept walking towards the big wheel. Went up and down 2 or 3 escalators before we finally found the actual entrance. It was very quiet so we got our own cabin but it does look well organized to handle heavier traffic. Great view of the city but the commentary could have been a bit more informative. Piece of advice ? You put the gift shop at the end - not the start. No one buys their snowglobe before they've been on the attraction !

Amazing, awesome experience to share with family and friends
Jan. 2021 • Family
We went after 8:30pm which was perfect. No crowds only waited about 20-25mins to get on. Worth every penny. Great views of Melbourne city. I highly recommend this for anyone and kids also. Awesome experience. 10 per cabin during Covid 19. So had my whole family in there sharing the experience together. Nothing short of amazing!!!

A must for visitors when visiting Melbourne
Dec. 2020
My three sons and l recently rode on the Melbourne Star.
We all bought the alcohol added ride where you are allowed a can of beer or a glass of wine whilst on the wheel.
One of my sons and myself are not good at heights, but the wheel rotated so slowly this fear was quickly overcome.
The ride is for one rotation and takes 30 minutes.
Wonderful views all over Melbourne are had.

Great views of our city.
Dec. 2020 • Couples
We went on the Melbourne Star today while on a city sojourn. We weren’t sure about opening times and bookings so I rang this morning to discover you can just show up which is what we did. We lined up for tickets and then lined up to go on the wheel.
Considering there are restrictions in place due to Covid 19, the line progressed fairly quickly and we were on the Star within half an hour. There was hand sanitiser everywhere and people were urged to keep 1.5 metres apart. There were only 5 in our cabin on the wheel.
Getting on and off was quite simple and we are 65 and 72. As the wheel rotates you are treated to various sights over 360degrees. We were able to see where the Maribyrnong River enters into Victoria Harbour and enjoyed picking out various landmarks around the CBD. We were amazed by the number of high rise buildings that have popped up in the last 10 years. The wheel took just on half an hour to go through the whole rotation.
I’d recommend it to all.

Okay-ish!
Nov. 2019
If you have taken a London Eye Flight, you won't cherish this as much for the views or the skyline. It is far from the main skyline and hence it just looks like an entertaining thing or an extra. However, everything is well organised and the tea & cake before the flight was a nice experience.
