Has some great shops and one of the best cake shops I have seen. Go early otherwise you have to line up. Just looking in the window is a must.

Strolling in the Block arcade takes you back to the old days. high ceilings and of course the Hopetoun Tea rooms - with guests linbing up out the door to get a table. There are interesting boutique shops.

We did not go in many of the shops, but the architecture alone was enough of an attraction, especially this being our first time in the city and an arcade! Loved it!

A must see when in Melbourne - lovely little arcade with lots of interesting shops to browse. The architecture is wonderful and it's great that it's all been preserved and in such good condition. Haigs chocolate shop is pricey but worth a visit.

This is an architectural masterpiece from a bygone era. The chocolate shop is a must visit and the Hopeton Tearooms have delicious cakes but you need to book or queue as it is so popular

Haigs chocolate is a must visit when you visit the Block Arcade. The chocolate is high quality. The arcade includes many other small specialty shops as well.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
