Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.

Visited these markets for the first time and was very impressed with the variety of fresh produce, meat and seafood available under one roof. The kitchenware store there was very well stocked with almost anything you could wish for. Would definitely return on my next visit to the area.

I stayed at a hotel right beside Prahran Market and it was very convenient to have fresh groceries that close.
There are plenty of options to choose from in the Market, fresh fruits, vegetables, great place for coffee and breakfast and also yummy lunch options.
The only downside it's they close around 5pm. Would be nice to have some night events with the market. But within my 2 week stay in Prahran, the market met all my expectations.

Recently dropped by on a recent trip to Melbourne. I had not been before and was suitably impressed. Excellent selection of pies, meats, pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables. Great rejection of coffee vendors and dips and nibbles. Wonderful destination shopping.

Located within an architecturally stunning building, (especially the facade), is home to the local, fresh fruit and vege market, the prices were are little exxie for our tastes, however, it was nice to stroll up and down the stands.

Prahran market is located - amazingly enough - in the inner city suburb of Prahran. The best public transport option is probably just the train to Prahran itself and then it's a short walk to the market.

It's the sort of place that has that farm-to-plate vibe about it and it has specialty stores selling everything from cheeses to the sort of meats that you don't see even in the specialist butchers much anymore. It's the sort of market that's entertaining to wander about even if you have no intention of buying anything. There are some areas where you can sit and eat and the place lacks the tatty air of the rear area of Victoria Markets north of the CBD.

Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

Easily accessible by train, Prahran Markets offer an interesting foodie experience. Located in as historical precinct, interesting architecture, there are plenty of stalls offering all sorts of produce: also plenty of interesting eating options including a good array of gluten free produce.

Worth a couple of hours of your time if in the near vicinity.

The Prahran Market is much loved by Melbourne's foodies. The Prahran Market hosts a great range of artisan food producers, just 10 minutes from the heart of Melbourne's CBD, in the City of Stonington. Traders willingly discuss the origins of their produce, much of which is organic. You can grab a bite at the delectable artisan bakeries and the flavorful eateries.

This market was a joy to visit. There was great range of stalls where we were able to buy fresh pasta, meats, cheeses, fruit and vegetables. We also bought fresh pastries and filled rolls. We will definitely revisit when we are next in Melbourne.
