Couldn't speak more highly of my experience - I thought it was excellent value, very relaxing and Amy skilfully massaged, exfoliated and painted my toenails. There was hot towels, warm water baths, some sort of scrub not just on my feet but up to my knees - amazingly uplifting and I just felt great for hours afterwards.
Two weeks later my nails still look great. Thank you for a special treat and I will definitely come back again. Ask for Amy!

Had a hot stone massage here and it was pretty ordinary. The therapist didn't ask what pressure I would like, I hardly felt a thing. I have had way better and felt that she was just going through the motions. Won't bother returning - there are way better spas in Melbourne.

Me amd my boyfriend have been in Chuan day spa for his birthday today and everything was an absolute pleasure, from start to finish! The staff was lovely and they treated us beautifully. The treatment was so relaxing, our therapists definitely satisfied our requests and I felt so good, like a piece of butter! They also gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco for the occasion. Then we went to the facilities, nothing to say..just wonderful! Amazing relaxing area too and amazing view. And at last but not least, our afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches was delicious, with complimentary birthday cupcake and glass of wine.
As an experienced spa therapist, I rate this 10/10! Will definitely come back!

My partner had booked accommodation and a voucher for a pregnancy massage at the Langham for me as we were celebrating an anniversary. I had booked the massage a few weeks prior. When I arrived the massage therapist introduced herself to me and seemed lovely, the pleasant experience ended there. We had left the physical voucher at home (some 4 hours away) and was rudely told by the receptionist that the massage would not be done without it. I told her I could produce a photo of it and was advised this was not satisfactory. I then said my partner could come down immediately and produce his receipt and the card he used to purchase the voucher and was again rudely told this also wasn’t acceptable. And that I could either pay for the massage again and send my voucher by post at a later date for a refund or I would be charged a 50% cancellation fee. She stated that the confirmation email sent to my partner had advised the physical voucher was required. (I note that confirmation email also stated that misplaced vouchers could be replaced by producing the receipt and card it was paid with which we had suggested). By this stage the staff member had been so rude that I didn’t even particularly want to get the massage at the spa. She then demanded payment of the cancellation fee which I refused as I felt the cancellation had not been my fault. She kept demanding and I refused to pay it and said I was going to speak with hotel management about the issue.

Hotel management were great and very apologetic. They confirmed that the voucher could have just been replaced given we had the receipt, copy of the voucher and the card used to pay for it. They refunded the voucher. Did put a big dampener on our stay though and I was quite shocked with the receptionist’s behaviour/ attitude at such a highly esteemed venue.

My husband and I both took a day off and sent the child to the school holiday to get some quality time to spend together. We chose to come here for some luxury treatment as Chuan spa was always on my wish list. I booked the service with a voucher and booking was easy and friendly. When we arrived on that day, I expected a warm greeting to start our journey. However, we were questioned by a receptionist with a cold face, "are you guys after swimming pool?"...We were checked in and then no explanation about the whole routine and the facilities they offer, we had to figure out by ourselves. They have three steps before the massage, luckily those information were written in their booking email. On the actual day, nobody mentioned any word about these steps. My main concern is actually about the treatment time. It's seriously shorter than what they promised. 1 hour massage ended up only 45 mins. I asked the staff, they told me 1 hour is including the consultation. But my point was the whole time including the consultation was about 45 mins. I also prearranged add-on scalp massage at extra cost, it's 10 mins service shows on the menu. I expected our whole treatment time should be 1 hour and 10 mins, but I was told add-on is not extra time, is included in 1 hour service but at extra cost. I really didn't get it, nobody explained this at the beginning. Anyway, after I complained, the lady waived the add-on fees and quickly moved to serve the next guest. Our health feedback forms were still left on their table, we didn't get chance to read them. This was my experience of my dreamed spa. What a disappointment!

I would like to share some feedback regarding my recent experience at the Chuan Spa. I will pre-empt this by saying I have worked as a Manger within a Services business for a long time and I’m aware some people are unrealistically and unreasonably difficult to please – I however am not one.
I was excited to find a package on your website for Mother’s Day which included a massage, facial, champagne, dessert platter, valet parking and some Babora products to take home. As my mum and I have had a tough year I decided to shell out the $360 for the package and book it in.
I’m afraid to say that from start to finish my experience with your spa was memorable for all the wrong reasons. From bad beginnings, we were left sitting on the couch ten minutes past our scheduled treatment time before the receptionist noticed and went to check up on where our therapists were. We were then greeted and led into our treatment room which was beautiful. Both of us were consulted by our assigned beauty therapist and this is where things started to go south. I firstly noticed multiple discrepancies in the things were asked and offer e.g I was offered a choice of oils and scents my mother was not, she was offered a choice of hair mask or oil treatment however I was not etc. now look I can deal with this however neither of us could shake the feeling that we were being offered varying levels of service despite being booked in for the same treatment and this created a sense of missing out.
I wish this was my only complaint however my therapist then made the following comment “just to let you know, I have an open wound so I’ll be wearing a surgical glove today which will not affect your treatment”……… now if I was going to compile a list of things you don’t want to hear before getting a facial and massage at a 5 star spa I would predict that statement would be pretty high up there. Feeling shocked, I was too mortified to raise my concerns as I was offered no chance to reply or request another therapist. My treatment was about as relaxing and enjoyable as you could imagine having a silicone surgical glove smothered in oil sloshed round your back and face could be. The glove squeaked and rolled up, making for an incredibly frustrating and uncomfortable experience, I was honestly glad when it was over.
Hoping that a glass of champagne and a dessert platter would rectify the situation I was even more disappointed that the allergy issues I raised were not catered to. Breaking it down; I asked for 1 x gluten free serving for my mother who is intolerant and 1 x nut free for myself as I suffer anaphylactic reactions. Instead what arrived was 1 x nut/gluten free platter and 1 x normal… I voiced the error and was stared at by the girls delivering the platters until I backed down and said it was fine. Embarrassed and made to feel like a nuisance, neither girl offered to rectify the issue and my mother and I were left to share two strawberries, a piece of rockmelon and some jam.
At this point my relaxing spa day was so far gone I just wanted to leave, still trying to put on a brave face so as not to spoil my mother’s experience. As we approached the front desk to leave we were left waiting for 5 minutes while another guest heatedly complained about their experience to the receptionist before she was able to address us. I enquired about our promised Babora products as no one had brought them to us and she then proceeded to interrogate me asking me my first name, last name, mobile number, appointment time, email address, “do you have your voucher” – no I already handed it in when we arrived, proceeds to search through redeemed vouchers before locating and begrudgingly handing over the little sample bottles and wishing us a frazzled farewell.
Fresh air! Glad for the spa saga to be over, safe to say I was exceedingly annoyed when I was told to return to the spa to have my valet ticket stamped – would have been nice to have been offered this at some point during the visit however clearly organisation is not a strong point of the Chuan Spa.

Look, as I mentioned I’m not a difficult customer – I merely hoped to receive what I paid $360 for from a reputable spa. But as you have read above this experience was a disaster from start to finish and I hope no one endures the same disappointment we did.

It was OK, but that's where it stops. We were there in late January, my husband and I had 1 hour facials. It was our wedding anniversary and because we both have bad backs and couldn't have a massage, we thought a facial would be a nice treat. My husband's first and he really enjoyed the experience, me? not so much. I found the instructions given to me to change and prepare were rushed and muttered, and then the hard sell on products started even before the facial, instead of enjoying the facial and relaxing I was concentrating on how unpleasant the pushing of products at the end was going to be. And it was. Sorry I haven't got anything else nice to say about it. But wait it gets even worse.
We always use my husband's credit card, I have one but it has only a nominal balance on it for emergencies only, however, because I rang to make this appointment and a credit card was needed to secure the booking I used my card. When we arrived for our appointment they asked for my card and it was put in a drawer and held until we completed our time (about 1 1/2 hours all up. At the end we paid on the my card and left. That night someone tried to make a large internet purchase on my card, luckily my bank blocked it as suspicious behaviour and contacted me. At the spa was the only time that my card has been out of my possession, this made me highly suspicious. I tried to contact the Langham Hotel but the manager didn't bother to return our call even though he knew what it was in regards to. So, I have to warn people on here instead.

I went to the spa for the first time last weekend.

My partner had been before (in January 2019) and raved about it. When he went in January 2019, he chose the TriBathing Experience (pool + spa + steam rooms day pass). He had an amazing time. In January 2019 it was $45 for the TriBathing Experience, he didn't have to pre-book, he was provided a complimentary robe and slippers to use during his use of the facilities, and the staff were wonderful.

Based off his feedback, we decided to go again this weekend for our anniversary (again, for the TriBathing Experience). We wanted to check the price online - but the website only gave prices for the spa treatments. No dramas - we knew what to expect from the January experience - so we headed there on Saturday around midday.

When we got there on Saturday we were greeted by a woman at the desk who asked if we had a booking. We said we didn't, and we were hoping to use the pool/spa/steam room (not any treatments). She was not impressed. She said "we're busy". We said we didn't mind. She then said: "we're too busy for you if you don't have a booking". There was a silence, as she didn't offer any kind of solutions. We said, "Okay, can we please book in another time? Maybe tomorrow?". She looked annoyed, and said: "it's $65". We said $65 was fine, we had been looking forward to the experience this weekend, so would like to book in for tomorrow. She again looked annoyed, but allowed us to book in for Sunday. We provided our contact details.

On Sunday, we arrived at the time we had booked. A man greeted us this time, and we provided our booking details. He also looked a bit put-out, and said: "It's busy. you might not want to come today". We advised we had booked, and were still happy to use the facilities (FYI: they had our contact details from the day before, and didn't contact us to reschedule due to busy-ness).

He insisted on showing us how "busy" it was first. It wasn't busy at all. There were approximately 10 people sharing the large pool and spa area. We told the man we were happy to use the facilities, as booked. He allowed us to enter, and we got locker keys, but he didn't provide any robes or slippers. I assumed we would find those inside the change room, as everyone else we saw was wearing robes/slippers.

We got changed, but there were only towels in the changerooms. So we approached the desk to enquire. The unimpressed lady from Saturday was back on the desk, and she quite rudely said that only hotel guests and people purchasing additional spa services (like massages) receive robes and slippers now.

This was very odd, as again - every other person was in a robe and slippers. It was a bit embarrassing walking around in wet feet and a small towel when everyone else was dry and cosy (and not leaving puddles - because they had dry feet). It was also a very cold day in Melbourne (mid July) and raining.

The spa, pool, and steam rooms were great and relaxing, and all the guests were kind and friendly. We appreciated the complimentary water bottles (considering how dehydrated you get in a steam room/spa).

Overall, I was pleased with the facilities, but found the staff went out of their way to be unpleasant. My partner said it was the opposite experience to the one he had earlier in the year. So much so we wonder if there is new management?

I would be happy to pay $65 for the pool + spa + steam rooms on a special occasion, but I think, for that price, you should be allowed to use the robes, and staff shouldn't seem so offended by your presence.

I've only ever given positive reviews in my life, and I was (and remain) very surprised by the experience on the weekend.

Hopefully someone finds this review helpful.

5 Star- No ways.
The sauna & steam area were full of under aged kids that were unsupervised. On bringing it to managements attention, twice I may add, nothing happened. 8 year olds opening and closing the steam room doors and being noisy.
The indoor pool had kids jumping in with swimming goggles and playing games and then jumping into the jacuzzi.
The treatment booked was with the jacuzzi first(how is this experience relaxing?) then a massage followed by a facial.
A day before I went to confirm the treatment for 11am, at no time was I told the first part was a "self help" and I had to arrive at 10:30. So I missed part of the experience but thankfully as it was so noisy.

They changed wax suppliers and it was the worst wax ever... Overall it was just terrible and I've been all over to different spas.

No compensation was even offered after two complaints.

Maybe it was because it was a Sunday morning? I Bought a spa pamper package for my birthday.. the advert looked good as did the description. The frosty reception at the spa was not a good way to start the morning.. nor the " Spa session ". The decor is tired and the stained lounges in the "retreat " area need replacing. the glass in the area is in need of a good clean .. perception of questionable hygiene standards.. The treatment and the practitioners was excellent! Back in the " retreat " area the plate of desert from the fridge and bubbly in a plastic flute .. signalled the end.. so off to the showers with wall mounted soap dispensers that don't work properly to finish the " pamper package ". I don't mean to sound negative as the treatment was great. But the experience was nothing like the description and not what you would expect of the Langham..
