Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited here on a cruise ship excursion which brought us from the port, thru a small part of the city and thru the little town of Sassafras to Sky High. It’s about 2000 ft high. Because the general locale is so flat, you get a decent view of the city some 30 miles away. There are a couple of viewing platforms, a small cafe, toilets and a few walks you can do including some small garden areas. It was ok, but nothing particularly special.

Our Mount Faber in Singapore is about 105 m high; this Mount Dandenong is about 633 m high, 6 times the height of Mount Faber. Admission to Mount Faber is free but admission to Mount Dandenong which is located about 44 km east of Melbourne CBD area is charged.

Close to the summit of the mountain sits the SkyHigh Mount Dandenong restaurant, gardens and maze. From here, one can have a helicoptre view of the Metropolitan area of Melbourne Central District and Port Philip Bay. It is cold up here and the air is fresh. The paronomic view is spectacular. The restaurant here is an award winning wedding venue and we were attracted by an elegant wedding limousine parked outside the restaurant.

We roamed around the English Gardens enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the wishing well, the meandering gravel paths and the wooden arch bridges and admired the beautiful and colourful flowers in the garden. We took a group photo at the Giant's Chair, a large novelty wooden chair at the front lawn of the site. There are public buses that ply directly to the summit observatory and the bus service numbers are 688 and 694.

I heard the night view here is even more stunning.

Drove all the way up there to check it out and take a photo to show overseas friends to see if they want to go there. Stopped at gates with a guy and an eftpos machine. Why do I have to pay to go in ?

If I could leave a -10 star review I would! Need to pay $10 for parking on weekend. Went for lunch at the bistro and the food is nothing better than a froze ready to make meal. Ordered beef nachos thinking it’ll be normal nachos. Ended up having nachos with cheese sauce ! WTF is that. No real cheese, corn chips wasn’t crunchy, fake guacamole. Nothing homemade or fresh (the only fresh ingredient was probably the lettuce with the chicken Parma)
After this disaster thought we will at least check the maze. Have to pay an extra $8 for that. No thank you.
We just left still hungry and $70 out of pocket! THIEVES !!!!!

A BIG RIP OFF - Don't waste your admission fee. We paid $8 just to park in the carpark and look at the view which was partially blocked by trees anyway. The place is very old and run down and the so called "attractions" were closed. REALLY why are you charging people an admission fee if there is nothing there. The cafe was open but this looked run down and neglected and we choose not to eat there. The place was creepy.... and needs a bit of love and attention. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Worst experience and rudest customer service.

Bought a pack of fries from the cafe as take away but later changed our mind and sat down at an outdoor table, whilst lots of patrons were sitting down without ordering anything.

The so called manager walked out and accusing us as "liar" as we told him we would take away but later sat down. Excuse me?? If this is the rule please STATE THIS ON THE TABLE AND MAKE IT BOLD. Also you could've explained politely and we would definitely be apologic.

Nothing but just rude and FALSE ACCUSATION. Also told us off as our little one was having "own food". Excuse me again? Our 21-month old is just having blueberries whilst we adults having fries - Do you have to be this strict with the little kid having his snacks?

The manager called us liar in public, told us off then took away our chairs, all in a rude manner and told us we were not welcome.

This place has no customer service, no respect and even no humanity.

After reading so many posts on zomato, tripadvisor and google, I was not surprised to find this place had numerous history of hanging up customers calls as they simply didn't hear what they wanted to hear (ie complaint or negative feedback), ignoring customers reasonable requests and asked customers to self serve, no attempt to make customers visit a pleasant one, no professionalism and even no fair treatment.

Disgusting and this place should shut down.

First visit in 25 years and could not believe that they charge $8.00 to enter the lookout. I believe the charge also applies even if you attend the cafe/bistro. Won't be visiting there again. They need to reassess entry charges or at ;east explain where the money goes.

A stay in the area had us come up here for a drive and what I had hoped was a nice relaxing lunch and afternoon. Had been told there was plenty of places to ‘just sit and relax’ so I brought a book and a hat. What greeted us was a gateman who charges us $7 to go into the car park!!!!! Unaware this was going to happen I hoped our stay would be worth it. Found a disabled car spot easily, thankfully! Only to be met with steps (Only finishing the ramp on our way out) to the restaurant. So busy and finding a table eventually. Lunch was over and hour wait and very very very expensive for what we got. Sitting in the small atriums - no social distancing being obverved. Only staying to eat as it cost us so much. People moving tables and chairs around and no staff to be seen. Many tables around us missing food and needing to speak to staff able at least one dish of their table not turning up. A recommendation from a friend who heard we were going to be staying in the area turned out to be sub- average and we won’t come back. View was lovely of Melbourne. But there are better ones around.

booked a table for 2 for dinner on a sunday night. wasnt told that there was a 7 dollar charge to park . made our way to the restaurant only to be told that the restaurant was shut and all booking were in the bistro. again wasnt told this on the phone. upon making our way to the bistro we were then taken to our table in the annex of the bistro. it has gaps all along the top of the area which makes it freezing, the heaters that are on do not warm you up. horrible experience which will never see us back .
