I chose Blue Tongue Bike Rent because it is perfectly located at Southbank. Freddy was quick to help me select an MTB bike which I rode solo / a total of 185km over 6 days. Followed all the DIY city tours per the website (great stops suggested) and also rode the single track MTB at Lysterfield Park with the S size Merida Big7 hardtail which was the highlight of the week. Also some city commutes and great way to rediscover the city. Signing up was hassle free and the bike came with all the accessories (phone holder, bottle cage, bell, lock). Overall, a fantastic experience, great customer service and good value. Highly recommended.

The bike (a comfortable upright sitting position and seat) seemed brand new. Freddy was super helpful with planning my ride. I loved the mobile phone holder- it worked great on my iPhone and made navigation a breeze. I rode along the Yarra river to the Abbotsville Convent (for a much-needed snack and coffee break) and then back to the river, all the way up to the Heide Art Museum. After all that peddling and exploring the art, I decided to hop on a train back to the CBD -easy! A great day out. Highly recommend the rental bike and doing that route if you have a chance!

Nagbook kami ng rental ng road bike pero di namin inaasahan na malakas ulan kung kailan kami nagbook. Nagpunta kami sa shop nila on the day of booking para magparefund sana at ang dali at ang ayos nila kausap. Nakuha namin kaagad yung binayad namin tapos nagbigay pa sila ng mga suggestions kung anong pwede naming gawin sa city instead of bike ride. Ang galing! Thank you! Babalikan namin ito sa susunod na pagkakataon!

This was an amazing 4 hr experience! We joined the e - bike tour and had the most informative guide- Izzy- who showed us how to use the bikes and took us around Melbourne and we stopped to chat and he told us stories about the area. We had couples on the tour but also a mother and son. The people were a mix of overseas travellers and interstate visitors. All communication was great leading up to the day and I would highly recommend giving it a go.

One of the best things to do in Melbourne!
Communication was flawless from booking to the day of the activity. The tour is safe, on quiet streets, sidewalks and bike lanes.
The electric bikes we had were brand new, comfortable, well maintained and the battery was enough for the whole ride!
Our guide was Fin and he knew the city like the back of his hand! He was informative, funny and kept us safe and happy during the activity!
I do these types of tours often and this was one of the best!
If you think about it, do it!

Highly recommend this bike hire shop. Tucked away and a short walk from the tram loop and very reasonable priced. Freddie was so helpful and provided options for routes and I hired a solid E Bike for 3 hours. I went down to St Kilda and Brighton clocking up 30kn on the excellent network of bike lanes. Great afternoon and thanks again to Freddie who made it all so easy.

James was super efficient and informative on email and when we arrived at the store. Sorted out some electric bikes for us and told us best place to go. Would recommend gel pad as a chargeable option along with Sat Nav facility. Highly recommend.

A terrific way to see the city of Melbourne. Good for all levels of biking. Freddy is a great tour guide, both funny and educational. He also was good at communicating safety aspects and what to expect on the route. Riding was on bike paths and on roads usually with bike lanes. Well paced with a lunch break a little over half way through.

Fantastic customer service, great quality bikes, QR scans for bike trails and staff that were very keen to talk about where to go and how to get there. Fabulous value for money and able to keep the bikes to 6pm. My wife and I cycled easily to Brighton Beach (colourful beach huts), had lunch in St Kilda on the way back, then rode laps around the F1 track in Albert Park finishing up with Happy Hour drinks on the Southbank! All for $40 a bike. Thank you Zoey!

We love to ride e bikes, but not in traffic, would we ride on bike trails or streets?

It was a combination for the tour I took. Most was in bike lanes or shared footpaths if in city traffic. But a small part was back streets and lanes. I had not been on a bike in over 20 years but I never felt unsafe or worried. The tour guide was amazing at keeping us all together and the use of the power on the e bike helped us get across busy intersections safely and quickly.

Do you have a locker or a place where we can store a bag? I'm booked for a session in the coming days but I'll be coming from a meeting and will have a heavy bag that I don't think is appropriate for cycling.

To the best of my knowledge Freddie’s do not provide any storage facilities. However, Melbourne City would have local pay for lockers at the local stations. This maybe an option. Enjoy your ride. J

We bike often and have added a padded covering to the seat. How hard are your seats? Should I be packing my seat covers? Coming from the US. on a cruise ship to Melbourne.

Unfortunately I do not know where the cruise boats dock but transport in and around Melbourne is very good. The bike tours generally start at 11h00 and finish around 15h30 - 16h00. We were there in high season and did not need to book ahead of time.
