Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nagbook kami ng rental ng road bike pero di namin inaasahan na malakas ulan kung kailan kami nagbook. Nagpunta kami sa shop nila on the day of booking para magparefund sana at ang dali at ang ayos nila kausap. Nakuha namin kaagad yung binayad namin tapos nagbigay pa sila ng mga suggestions kung anong pwede naming gawin sa city instead of bike ride. Ang galing! Thank you! Babalikan namin ito sa susunod na pagkakataon!

(We booked a road bike rental but we didn't expect it would rain on the day of our booking. We went to their shop anyways to ask for a cancellation/refund and they were so easy to talk to. We got our refund right away and they even gave us suggestions on what else we can do in the city for that rainy day. Awesome customer service! Thank you so much! We'll definitely book with them again next time we're in Melbourne!)

This was an amazing 4 hr experience! We joined the e - bike tour and had the most informative guide- Izzy- who showed us how to use the bikes and took us around Melbourne and we stopped to chat and he told us stories about the area. We had couples on the tour but also a mother and son. The people were a mix of overseas travellers and interstate visitors. All communication was great leading up to the day and I would highly recommend giving it a go.

It was September 2022. I rented 2 bikes to do a 1200km ride north of Melbourne.
The bikes were clean and in good condition.
I was lent CO2 cartridges and inner tubes which I did not use.
The managers are very nice. The saleswoman speaks French very well.
The price is attractive since it cost me less than taking our bikes by plane (without the risks of delay and breakage).

I chose Blue Tongue Bike Rent because it is perfectly located at Southbank. Freddy was quick to help me select an MTB bike which I rode solo / a total of 185km over 6 days. Followed all the DIY city tours per the website (great stops suggested) and also rode the single track MTB at Lysterfield Park with the S size Merida Big7 hardtail which was the highlight of the week. Also some city commutes and great way to rediscover the city. Signing up was hassle free and the bike came with all the accessories (phone holder, bottle cage, bell, lock). Overall, a fantastic experience, great customer service and good value. Highly recommended.

One of the best things to do in Melbourne!

Communication was flawless from booking to the day of the activity. The tour is safe, on quiet streets, sidewalks and bike lanes.

The electric bikes we had were brand new, comfortable, well maintained and the battery was enough for the whole ride!

Our guide was Fin and he knew the city like the back of his hand! He was informative, funny and kept us safe and happy during the activity!

I do these types of tours often and this was one of the best!

If you think about it, do it!

Thanks blue tongue!

We (two adults and a teen) spontaneously decided to rent bikes and do the Capital City Trail on a Saturday mid-morning. We walked into Blue Tounge Bikes and James expertly supplied us with 3 suitable mountain bikes and maps for our phones. The bikes are definitely the best quality bikes I have ever rented! They were new Meridas with special easy to use locks and phone holders (for those of us that are not used to navigating Melbourne). The Capital City Trail was amazing. Beautiful, easy to ride and safe for families as it is all off road bike paths. There are lots of food stops along the way. It was handy to have a phone app to help guide us, as a couple of times the path wasn’t so well marked. We had a great day! Thanks James for the great equipment and good local advice.

It was a fantastic experience!
Two friends and I did a ~75 km bike ride along the Yarra River and it was one of the best experiences since we arrived last year at Melbourne. A great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenarios and enjoy the rain ! We had time to do some canoeing in the River and had oven baked pizzas and a glass of red wine of the Yarra Valley! before we turn back. The mountain bikes were in perfect condition! At times we had to bike off road up and downhill, and the breaks and suspension were excellent and made the trip safe. I strongly recommend it if you want to enjoy nature and be out of the crowds and cars of the CBD...

Freddy's cruiser bikes were good quality, well maintained and really comfortable. I appreciated that locks were offered as a part of the rental too. We hired 5 cruisers on a rainy weekend day and headed up the river. Before we knew it we were 12 kms upstream and the Collingwood Children's Farm was within reach for lunch (awesome spot for refuelling). Although the weather was pretty tragic we all voted to continue on the Capital City Trail (30km round trip) which took 4 hours including lunch. All appreciated we had seen a great deal of Melbourne and very much earnt our pasta on Lygon Street that night :-)
Thanks Freddy, this adventure will be long and happily remembered by our family.

Electric bikes and Melbourne are a perfect match with so many bike lanes and tracks. The electric bikes we hired for $40 each for the day seemed in reasonable condition and meant we could explore for most of the day without too much effort. One member of our party is not able to walk unaided but could cycle no problems - such fun to move around fast and explore the city, the Yarra (you can cycle all the way to Merri Creek in the East and Port Phillip to the West) along cycle paths After about four hours our butts were ready for a break hehe.
