This is the Melbourne City store of the David Jones department store chain, and it's the showcase for the company. Every time we visit Bourke Street mall my wife invariably ends up visiting David Jones and leaves with a new pair of shoes.

To miss a visit to David Jones is to miss Harrods in London but not on such a grand scale. More like Harvey Nichols or John Lewis, not quite Selfridges. They stock the lot and the staff are very user friendly and helpful. A must...More

We ate at the food Hall recently. The food is lovely and fresh. The bakery has amazing cakes, also great for a birthday cake. It is quite expensive so I don't come here often. The grocery section has some specialised food but it has most...More

Stood around the makeup/perfume section for over 30 minutes looking for Molton Brown products. I stood in front of no less than 5 different counters, manned by at least 2 staff that werent occupied. In all that time, despite looking totally lost and in need...More

We visited DJs just to have a look and see if there is any difference from the Sydney DJs. We went around the store and, well, they are really the same everywhere. Their food court is okay but expensive and so is practically everything else...More

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
