This is a great place to have lunch if on the run and if you want somewhere where you can hear yourself talk with your guests. I frequent this place a lot, especially the chinese food, where you order your food around where the chef prepares it and actually watch it being cooked. It does get busy but always get... More

We were desperate for a late lunch and the lady at the food hall was very accomodating. She was super! We had Asian share plates. The duck pancakes were divine. Great location, not busy but it was 245pm. It was perfect.

Huge shopping mall on both sides of the road. Foodmall is at the basement with a variety of food and confectionary.

Stopped in to browse ladies apparel and ended up with several purchases. Very happy with the value paid for the items received! Helpful and friendly service and well merchandised store offering many known global designer brands as well as private label merchandise. Had not planned on shopping that much, but enjoyed my time spent in the store!

Many brands to shop, lots of stuff to buy, branded etc. Pretty quiet and not crowded daytime or night time.

I honestly find the service at David Jones Bourke Street to be far superior to other stores in the CBD. It always helps to know what you're looking for, so check out their website before coming :) The beauty/fragrance and accessories level is my favourite :)

I was staying in Melbourne for a few days & needed some extra toiletries. I went to David Jones late on Boxing Day & was helped by a smiling young woman, who was patient & keen to assist. The store was full of customers & I really appreciated her assistance.

This is a good store and possibly the best in Melbourne but not meet the standards you see overseas in terms of product range or providing a place to get what you want. The basement food court is no where near the standard you see in Japan or London but a good try. The better quality brands are usually too... More

Coming from Singapore where we have an over-saturation of shopping malls, we thought that David Jones is another one of those run-of-the-mill places that can't differentiate from the others. Not so this one. Merchandise range is wide, and prices surprisingly reasonable.

This is my new favorite store! The choices are endless, as is the variety. High end fashion to homewares-just beautiful! I bought shoes here along with my niece. The service was impeccable. You just don't get service like this in other places. They called to see if my nieces size was available in another part of the store, and then... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
