Aquariums you may see all around the planet, but we found that the entry-fee of this one was extremely expensive compared to others we have been before.

This was my 7y.o first trip to the aquarium and he loved it. I have to say that is an expensive day out but I can understand why (paying staff and the upkeep of the aquarium) We really tried to stretch out our visit but were still out after 2 hours. The 4D cinema is a really nice touch. Staff... More

A great experience for family and friends, with a wide variety of fish and sea-life. Their penguin exhibit looks really amazing and not to mention the variety of sealife that one gets to see there (my personal favorites were the sharks and enormous stingrays!) There is a nice activity section for kids where in they can colour the fishes and... More

Took the kids here - I feel the price is fairly high as to what is inside. It is a must to go here. The only thing I could say was that to get out at the end was difficult as there are no signs.

This is a must for everyone - children will stand in awe as the "residents" swim above them - to see the underside of a whale, let alone the others is just amazing.

The aquarium is a great family experience. It cost us $99.00 for 2 adults/ 2 children. There is a wonderful marine life and great interaction for children. Very clean and well organised, with lots of information on the different species. Some of the fish, I had never seen in my life. Some of the marine life was amazing, The kids... More

The Melbourne Aquarium is a great way to spend a few hours. Very easy to get to by free tram if you are visiting Melbourne and cheap parking if you live in Melbourne, just check the website for parking deals, just a short walk from the car park in Flinders Street. All over great things to see, BUT I MUST... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
