kids 11 & 15 found it very interesting. Good variety of displays. 4D experience was great. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices at gift shop. Take your own snacks if your kids have a good appetite as food is a bit expensive. Very good public transport to and from.

As a first time visitor to Melbourne, the Melbourne Aquarium was a must do on the list of places to visit. From the aquarium containing so many species of fishes to include Barramundi and Grouper to the frozen display of the penguins a new sight to behold is around the next corner.

We loved looking through the aquarium. We pre purchased out tickets which made our entry very fast and easy. We skipped the big line up and walked right in, so I suggest you get your tickets online also it's cheaper that way. We got parking across the road only cost $5 or $6 if you pre organise that through the... More

I took my 7 year old granddaughter and we had an enjoyable time. Although it was school holidays it was not too crowded and we were able to view all the marine life on show. The highlight had to be the 3D Ice Age short film.

We loved our few hours here. For starters it was so easy to get there on the tram. If you can plan ahead buy tickets online before you go to save some money. The exhibits are so varied and interesting and it is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. There are a lot of activities for kids... More

My children enjoyed their time at Sea Life Aquarium, there was plenty for them to see and do. Their highlights were collecting the stamps on their activity lanyards, the short 4D movie and the Penguins.

Wife and I did the tour and found it to be interesting and fun. Got the photos to prove it. Can be costly but it must take a lot of resources to maintain so saw it as a donation to the upkeep of the facility. Enjoyed the experience.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
