Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As an adult couple the activities were enjoyable and invoked the sense of wonder and magic they advertised. I would agree with others that the hour long journey is a bit of a stretch and this can be realistically enjoyed in a much shorter time.
The AI was a highlight and I recommend spending plenty of time interacting with this amazingly intelligent system.
What made the experience disappointing was that around 6:40 the staff began to start cleaning up. Installations were shut off and vacuuming started around people still trying to enjoy their not inexpensive experience, which really took you out of the immersion and jolted you right back into reality.
If you are interested in interactive light and sound displays and are happy to pay the entry price for even a short moment of wonderment I would still recommend that you go, but avoid the closing time so that you can exit when ready with a positive atmosphere instead of a reminder that you are in a tent with some fancy lights.

I note that from being a guest at other exhibits of light and sound, I'm happy to pay good money, and me and my family have a high sense of engagement and interaction. Imaginaria did not disappoint, we stayed for much longer than our share, and were sad to have to get going and leave. I think the bad reviews are possibly just people that didn't realise they don't like "light art". So if you don't understand what light art is all about then this might not be fir for you. But if you appreciate well thought out mood lighting, enjoy relaxing, happy to engage with your senses, then I'm sure you'll enjoy.

This doesn't even deserve 1 point out of 5, it was an absolute waste of time and money. Completely underwhelming, my Christmas tree lights are more impressive than this overpriced rubbish. The organisers should be ashamed that they are actually charging admission to hard working families. I feel robbed.

We enjoyed the ability to be immersed in lights, patterns, sound. The session is for an hour but even though we took our time, we were still finished in 15-20 minutes.
I would have been happy paying $15 per person but not $30 per person.

This was a total waste of time and poor experience. Do not go to this even if you have kids. I went with my boyfriend and we could’ve gone through to see and do everything within 10 minutes even though the website says 30-1hr.
This is nothing like infinity. I was really disappointed. Such a waste of money it should’ve been priced as a gold coin donation. P.s the virtual man at the end was obviously someone backstage with a camera. It was cringe and unnecessary.

Very disappointed in this experience. We paid $90 between the three of us and we probably could have made the exhibit ourselves for the same price. We were in and out in 15 minutes and that was us taking our time! Definitely should not be marketed as for all ages, this is definitely just for kids and even the kids didn't look like they were having a great time. Do not recommend this overpriced experience, an incredible SCAM! We were shocked that everyone else had been conned as well, incredibly disappointing waste of time. Would rate this 0 stars if I could! I never leave reviews but I really need to emphasise how bad this was for other people out there!

Basically $30 a pop for a pair of socks with some lights, smoke machine and what can loosely be described as a jumping castle thrown in. In and out in 15 mins tops. The only thing you’ll be imagining is what you could have done with your hard-earned that you spent here. Take the kids to your local playground, they’ll have more fun. Really wanted to like this and it looks like the designers at least put in a bit of effort, but it felt hard to engage with and considering the price it was a big let down.

Waste of time and money. Advertised as for all ages, possibly might entertain young kids for 20-30 minutes, but not much more than a bouncy castle would.
Overpriced, poor imitation of other immersive experiences around the world.

I too, wish I read the reviews before getting tickets, but we purchased them on a whim while we were at Docklands to go on the Melbourne Star.
This place is just a hipsters play centre with some bouncy castles and flashing led lights. The whole thing was over in a about 10 minutes and cost us $88 for a family of 4. I’m not exactly sure how it was supposed to ignite our senses but if you’re taking kids, you’re better off taking them upstairs to the play centre instead. Like any good tourist attraction, there is overpriced junk at the end that we had to buy the kids to be able to get our. Bizarre, overpriced experience. Don’t waste your time or money.

I had travelled an hour and a half into the city with my partner to see imaginaria, which consisted of a few lights and a jumping castle.
The website is false advertising, the air ventilation is poor, we completed imaginaria within 10 minutes, there were missing components as some of the displays weren’t working.
I am so glad I didn’t bring my child as the jumping castle is extremely dangerous with small entrance holes where a child could climb through and suffocate.
I feel robbed and shocked that this is actually still running!
