This is architechturally a very interesting design. It's sort of tucked away behind st Kilda road. And it's near a tram stop. It's also only a short walk from Flinders Street Station. There is a restaurant inside and it's a lovely facility. I'll definitely come...More

The plays at The Sumner are (usually) great with wonderful productions and performances. The acoustics and the view of the stage are also fantastic but, oh what an uncomfortable seating arrangement! I don't know how some people manage to squeeze past to find their seats,...More

A great night out, our second visit to Melbourne and our second visit to the Southbank. I loved the play as did my husband, despite being a female story. The staff were very helpful looking after my wheelchair during the performance.

Was keen to see play by the Melbourne Theatre Company . This is its home base and was lucky enough to see Macbeth . There are sandwiches and light snacks to be had at the theatre or there is Blondie's next door . You can...More

Sharing the same building as the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Southbank Theatre ironically is less orderly than its neighbour but nonetheless charming in its manner. Taking an informal approach to admitting theatre goers to the show, we soon adapted to this set up by joining...More

My best mate and I went see this new realisation of the 60s classic. And what a fun time it was! I've long been a fan of Shaun Micallef, and he didn't disappoint. Frances Greenslade was equally as fine, and the entire ensemble really brought...More

We were attracted by the combo of Micallef and Greenslade from their other comedic offerings. The show was good but there were only some parts that really sparkled. For instance the first half of the second act where Micallef's physical slapstick was just superb. When...More
