Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.

Twice already The staff member has charged me $25 more and disagreed with me in the end realising I was right and twice my family missed the beginnings of our movies becas of staff errors . Very annoyed as the staff are friendly but not educated enuff on charging correct prices it’s ridiculous so be careful ur charged correctly as they have no clue unless u mention it & you will miss out on movies becas of them with no compensation just an oops oh yeah ur right !! We do love imax and we are members so this is Not good enuff to be treated this way. I reccomrnd the 3D movies in this venue. Just watch out on costs.

From the time we arrived we were very pleased with the way the staff were helpful & friendly . The theatre was great. Good seating and first class view. We watched “Serengeti “ Journey to the Heart of Africa . It was so real we felt as we were there . So clear and interesting.

We really enjoyed visiting IMAX. It is right next to the museum, so it makes for a good day out. We went to IMAX then went across to the museum. We went to a 3-D movie which was difficult with masks that we managed to get through okay. Well worth it

My wife and I were here to watch "Arctic 3D. Our Frozen Planet" by BBC Earth. It was narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Exclusive to IMAX.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching this spectacular documentary in 3D. Well worth the price of entry.

Not as big as compared to other imax cinemas such as sydney or those in India. Seating is quite congested too. The movie experience is fine but still feels uncomfortable due to seating. Watched fantastic beasts movie and the screen experience was good.

Whilst it is expensive, I'm really glad I booked premium seating. I was the only person in the row which made it very personal and comfortable. I saw Beauty and the Beast and it was nice to see it in 3D on the large screen. My only quibble is the price - $42 to see a movie is not something I would pay regularly but I decided to treat myself as I was on holiday.

I took my daughters aged 8 and 5 to see Flying Monsters. Total screen time 40 minutes; total cost with 1 large popcorn and 1 large drink to share...$75.50???

C'mon guys..that's a bit steep!

Last week we went to see Bohemian Rhapsody at IMAX Melbourne Museum. We have only seen documentaries there before and the first time we saw a film that wasn’t 3D. It was a fantastic venue to watch such a great film. We booked into the premium seats in the back row. We are now sold on this venue for great films.

After hearing all about the new space film at IMax on the radio, I booked tickets without doing further research. Hmmm ... over priced for this very, very short film. The facilities are OK, but the metal railings at the from of the cinema sit in front of the screen and disrupt the picture, so it was a bit weird. Staff at the cafe were very inflexible about serving softdrink in the smaller cups they had ... the minimum I could buy for a child was 600ml for $6.50. Just ridiculous. This gouging for cheap food at the cinemas is a pet-hate of mine, it's really unnecessary. They need a kids sized 250ml cup for some softdrink as a treat ... $3 max. Next time I go, I'm booking a good, long film and bringing my own treats.
