Wonderful wine tour…

This was an absolutely delightful small group wine tour. Our guide Davide was knowledgeable, funny and engaging. I joined last minute as a solo traveler and there were just a total of seven guests. That size felt perfect to me as I was looking for a small group. I thoroughly enjoyed the people on the tour and all of the wonderful wines that we sampled. Each winery had its own distinct character and all of the locations were lovely. we had a beautiful sunny day and the vineyards throughout the valley were gorgeous. Lunch was delicious as well, exceeding my expectations. I can't say enough good things about this tour! I also felt it was an excellent value for the money. If you sign up for this tour, I don't think you will regret it!

Winery tour to Mornington Peninsula
Feb 2020
We were picked up in Mornington saving us a trip to the city. We had a fantastic day. Lots of great wines and lots of history and background to each wine sampled. Good prices on purchases made at each winery. A fantastic lunch at Tuck’s Winery which was freshly cooked and plentiful. Couldn’t fault this tour and would highly recommend it.Thanks for the perfect end to my three weeks in Australia.

A great day in Yarra Valley

I was originally a little disappointed to hear we were not visiting Chandon. However, it didn’t matter, we still had a wonderful day, Ian was a great driver who got everyone talking to each other, it was such a friendly group. Lunch at Soumah was delicious. Our favourite winery was Helen’s Hill. We never felt rushed and were taken past a few interesting spots on the trip.
I look forward to doing another trip with chill out.

We have participated in private wine tours in other regions and I struggled when making this booking as I wanted a very personalised special tour for my husbands 50th birthday. In the past, we have visited with winemakers, had behind the scene tours, special tastings and even had a champagne breakfast. I enquired about doing something special and we didn’t get any options beside the normal add-ons. The other regions were a fraction of the cost with more options. This may have something to do with the proximity to Melbourne. We were scheduled for a private tasting at Dominique Portet and the staff member doing the tasting decided to give a tasting to another couple at a different bench at the same time he was doing ours. With that said, Ivan was a great driver and conversationalist. He stopped in at the dairy so we could get some cheese to go with our wine. He also added a tasting at the end which was nice. Even though he added those stops, I probably would recommend just doing a normal group tour through Yarra Valley as the cost vs benefit isn’t worth it. I would recommend lunch at Killara Estate as it was very tasty. The region was beautiful. The towns quite, people friendly. I highly recommend visiting.

I am sorry to hear you had a disappointing tour. I am surprised that you said the tour was not very personalized as we work together picking the venues and what was happening at each venue. (We even got you into Yarra Yering which does not take tour groups.) We also provided a driver Ivan who has over 40 years importing French Wine to Australia so there is no better wine expert to take you around the Yarra Valley. With bonus stops I would have hoped that you thought the tour was above average. I will pass your comments on to Dominique Portet. Cheers David

Wine tour success

Great day out. Went to 4 wineries. Great selection. Great food. Each winery was different but so lovely. We were welcomed in warmly and learned a lot. Our driver Warrick was amazing. Gave us plenty of notice when it was time to move on. Be try friendly and happy to chat. Would recommend

Great Winery Tour

Tour guide was friendly and helpful. On time and kept us on track! Good knowledge of local area, history and local challenges. The inclusive tour was hassle free and the lunch at Soumah was excellent.

Superb Yarra Valley Wine Tour

I just wanted to email with some really positive feedback - myself and 2 friends just did the Yarra Valley wine tour with this company in August and we were really impressed at how well everything was organised and the wineries were excellent. The lunch we were served at Train Trak winery was sooo good, and loads of it.

Anthony was our tour guide and he really made the tour what it was and i loved his laid back and humourous style, but he could obviously read the group very well and was very professional. I also loved the way that we never felt rushed by him to get round each winery quickly, yet if we needed chivvying up a bit he would do it, but in a very gentle way :)

Id definitely recommend anyone to do this tour - especially if you could get Anthony as the tour guide as well!

Yarra Valley Winery Tour

Just want to let anyone know who is considering this day trip to do it!!! I had a couple of friends down from Cairns and we all decided we wanted to do a winery tour. From the moment we met our tour guide Anthony, we felt welcomed and safe haha! The bus was only a small one that took approx 9, so it was good on roads and your not battling the herds! Anthony was so knowledgable, giving us a run down of what to expect for the day ahead. The whole drive he was giving us lots of historical information about Melbourne and the Yarra Valley. Our lunch at Tram trak was the best lunch we've had in ages! Its worth it just for that! The 3 wineries (not Chandon) we had full tastings and they were very generous. Such a lovely day with lovely extras and tour guides, I HIGHLY recommend this tour for anyone!

Great day but would go with another company next time

We enjoyed our day and made the most if it- the driver David was lovely and very knowledgable. Unfortunately we were with a hen's party and wasn't exactly idea of. Romantic low key day. The restaurant wS changed and only limited to some antipasto and three pieces max of pizza- other tours have two courses a la carte. Likewise we paid the same price as those who came from Melbourne despite being picked up in healesville. There are cheaper tours that have two course meals and visit smaller boutique wineries that o would suggest you source first.

Amandajeanwhite I'm glad you had a good time and made the most of it. I'd just like to point out the hens party did the sneaky on us and split their booking over two names and booked without informing us it was a hens party. We don't allow group of more than 7 on the public tours to avoid the situation you had on your tour. David the driver put in extra effort to ensure you were looked after once he realised a hens party was on the trip. Also, the change of venue was advised on 15 June, about a month prior to your tour and we offered a refund or change of tour, which was declined. Our private tours visit the smaller wineries, whereas the public tours visit larger wineries. I do appreciate that you made the most of your tour and overall enjoyed it. Cheers

Anthony made the difference - Great value for money
Anthony was a great guide - so knowledgeable and clearly had a great life long interest in wine and the area which came through in his commentary. A great mix of different wineries on the tour - and the food at Train Trak was excellent. Couldn't believe what was included for the $ - this was the best tour I have done to date in the Yarra Valley and will be telling everyone to pick this one.
