It was quite rushed, in and out of bars except for 2 that we had a drink at. No written information about bars, not easy to remember 12 bars and where they all are. On saying that our guide was lovely and just doing her job.

We recently went on the Miss Fisher walking tour in Melbourne. Our tour started with a delicious afternoon tea which gave us an opportunity to meet our tour guide Kathy and the other participants. It was fabulous to visit some of the sites that were used in the filming of the TV Series and to learn about the history and... More

Our laneaway walking tour with guide Kathy was a great experience. We started at Federation Square and walked for more than 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. We gained a lot of interesting and information about the history of Melbourne and its laneways, as well as walking through many of the more interesting lanes and arcades full of interesting and... A belated review but one I must do. My mother and I were in Melbourne for one day so rang Tarsha at Meltours last minute in hope they may have something available. Incredibly accommodating Tarsha said Kathy would be happy to take us on a tour even though there was only the two of us. How incredibly lucky we were.... More

We took the Arte Deco tour and, for the first time, saw some real gems of Melbourne's Arte Deco architecture we'd previously walked right by and never really 'seen'. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable and interesting without overloading us with irrelevant detail. A fascinating, enjoyable and interesting, real eye-opener!!!! Highly recommended!

This was a wonderful tour with Kathy who was so knowledgeable about the TV series and Melbourne. Her passion for the city and its history really shines through. I loved the use of the iPad to show parts of the series when we were at particular locations. Looking forward to doing another tour with Kathy and this company again.

Today we experienced an amazing tour of the unique and quaint laneways in Melbourne with passionate guide Eben. Eben set the scene by commencing with a condensed and informative history of Melbourne. We're more the wiser now about John Lancey, Lord Melbourne, John Batman and his 'treaty', and the Yarra Yarra falls. Eben's vast knowledge extended to the architectural delights... More

We (my best friend and I) did a "Hidden shops of Melbourne" tour with Cathy. We'd both been to Melbourne a few times, and I had previously done a "Hidden Secrets Laneways & Arcades" tour. I recalled that tour although great, took me to some shops that I wouldn't really want to buy anything in. As an aside, I'm also... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
