Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the best time on touring round the yarra valley, Shane was an excellent tour guide with great information on the wines and the area and all the wineries were absolutely stunning we especially enjoyed the payten and jones winery as it was something so different, one of our best days in Australia

Top notch tour of the Yarra Valley. Sampled wines from a diverse group of wineries. Included a lovely lunch in a beautiful setting. The tour guide, Garth, was exceptional. Highly recommend.

We had the pleasure of going to Yarra Valley with Adrian. He was very friendly and we enjoyed the information on Australia and his personal stories. He really engaged the group. Some people went for a total day of wine tasting and the other half spent the morning at the wildlife sanctuary. We didn’t get a volunteer guide at the sanctuary, but that ended up okay. There were lots of children there because of the spring break. It didn’t seem overly crowded and was nice that many animals weren’t in cages and we were wondering how they (eg, kangaroos) knew not to cross the roped off areas. There were lots of Koalas which was great because they are so cute and you get a close up view.
The lunch and wine tasting at Yering was fabulous. Then we went to a wine and cheese paring at Debortoli which was equally great.
Initially we thought this tour might be on the expensive side, but given the lunch and the higher end wines we experienced it was well worth it.

Awesome Trip. First Class. Rob the guide is great. We enjoyed all three stops on the tour. Highly recommend. We took a scenic route and saw lots of wild kangaroos on the way back. Lunch was excellent

Our tour was exactly as it was described. Paul was a great tour guide. The wineries were lovely , lunch could improve a bit. I had some great food and wine pairing in Mendoza Argentina and Chilean wine country. It should have been at least 2-3 course , not one. And couple of glass of wine.

We had a an absolutely great day with Paul! He met us at the cruise port with a nicely appointed van and drove eight of us on an amazing Yarra Valley wine adventure. We did tastings at four cellars and had lunch and another tasting at the fifth cellar.
Paul was cordial and knowledgeable about wine, the Yarra Valley, and Melbourne. We couldn’t have asked for a better day! We highly recommend this tour!

While visiting Melbourne over five days in Mar '24, we signed up for both Vinetrekker's i) Mornington Peninsula and ii) Macedon Ranges tours. Both were most enjoyable and scenic, albeit fairly different in terms of geography and hence vista, and therefore completed each other, as they allowed us to better appreciate the nuances of the same varietals being grown and vinified in different regions (i.e. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir). On both days, Paul was masterful at sharing extensive history and knowledge, while managing the timeline (on aggregate, twelve wineries in 20 hours, including the two return - and very comfortable - rides to and from Melbourne) in an impressively pleasant and smooth manner. All wineries visited provided a warm welcome, with quality tastings, and beautifully serene environments, which all made for great memories. Once again, a big thank you to Vinetrekker and Paul.

Shane from Vinetrekker Wine Tours made sure everyone had a great day. He was knowledgeable about the unique wines at each winery. He even knew where a participant from overseas was likely to see some kangaroos! The day was well organised and we got to taste a variety of wines. Some wineries combined the tasting experience with cheeses. A participant that was vegan was also catered for. Lunch at Yering Station was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour. I’ll also be considering other destinations with this tour company on future trips to Melbourne. Lynne (Sydney, Australia)

The tour was everything we expected. Service was excellent and was over and above what we expected. We would do other tours with this operator if we had more time available.

To start with: I rarely write reviews. Here: I have to - for a very good reason. The wine tour was great and is highly recommended. Paul is a wonderful host and the wineries he chose for our tour were also excellent. At each tasting we were given interesting facts and background to each one of the superb wines. At some stops we also were served snacks or exquisite cheese specialities. Lunch at one of the wineries was great. We also got to know super nice fellow travellers. The journey through the Yarra Valley was varied and the views were sometimes spectacular. All in all, the trip, which lasted about 10 hours, was entertaining, peppered with excellent wines, impressive wineries and a lot of fun.
