Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place doesn't look much but it's warm and friendly and the food is fantastic. I ordered the spare ribs and it was so tender it was falling off the bone. Really nice food for a decent price. Went well with a beer or two. I wish I'd known about this place sooner.

Feels like a San Francisco dive bar. No pretences, no gimmicks, just a bloody good bar with great music and above average food. The beer garden is excellent on a sunny day or a warm night.

Regularly visit this watering hole with friends. Foods great, staff are friendly and there are never any trouble with patrons. Highly recommend.

Friends invited us to this place based on a review they'd read that classed the chicken parmigiana as Melbourne's "second best". When we found it, we were all a little taken aback by its, shall we say tired appearance. But we went in and sat at the front bar for a beer, and found that rather than shabby, the Town Hall is just filled with character. Sure, the record covers on the wall are old, but they're funny and fascinating, and genuine.
We moved into the beer garden to order lunch, periodically heading back to the bar to get fresh drinks. Order lunch at the bar as well, and pay for it there and then - quaint but no big deal. The food took a long time to arrive, considering the deartyh of other customers, but when it did it was awesome. Massive serves, great taste, fresh. Can't get better than that.
We rolled out of there about 4.30pm very pleased with ourselves and our day at the Town Hall.

I regularly visit the Town Hall Hotel for a few beers at the weekend. Always a lovely atmosphere in the bar area and not a bad spot to catch the footy! Quite a nice little selection of Draught beers are available. Moreover, they also pull together some decent pub grub too!

What a delightful find in North Melbourne. We enjoyed our last supper with mulled wine and complimentary housebaked bread.
After purging ourselves in sin and thoroughly enjoying the Book or Mormon last night, we enjoyed the opportunity to repent and cleanse our souls.
In a quaint cosy dining room with a roaring winters fire, we were served quickly by smiling saints.
The decor fitted an honest sundays meal, with an old world charm and blessed tone.
This review is a confession of our satisfaction and compliments to the lord of the Town Hall Hotel.

Went to the Townie for a reunion with a group of people and we had a great time. I ordered a burger and chips and it was terrific. They had a good live band in the bar and the beer garden was pumping.

Ordered the bangers and mash and the eye fillet, food overall is of great quality and taste. Bangers and mash was a bit heavy but the eye fillet was amazing. $32 for the eye fillet, seems pretty standard.
Staff were great, very friendly. Would go back for sure especially with the cool vibe and service.
