About VIC Rainbow Tours
James & Andy at VIC Rainbow Tours offer private LGBT friendly tours in Victoria, Australia. They specialise in small group tours for couples, friends or families who want an exclusively private touring experience in a safe comfortable Gay friendly environment. Having emigrated from the UK 15 years ago, they have spent their time travelling extensively throughout Victoria, Australia. And having lived the last 8 years on The Great Ocean Road and 5 years on Phillip Island, it is only natural with their common bond with these two areas in particular, that private touring has become their speciality! Now having re-located back to Melbourne CBD, James & Andy are now able to offer private tours (including multi-day excursions) leaving from Melbourne city centre each day in their comfy air conditioned SUV & MPV vehicles. Check out their website link for more details of the tours and the services they offer; and let their passion for the area bring some colour to your trip Downunder.

We had a fantastic time, with James sharing amazing knowledge on the trip. He even took us to a personal favourite of his for breakfast - Waves the pancake place in Apollo Bay. Awesome Highly recommend this tour.

Thanks Jason. It was great to show you and Azan my happy place. You can't go past those Nutella and strawberry Crepes if you are waking up in Apollo Bay, that's for sure!!!! ;-) So glad to hear you had a fantastic time! Warmest regards, James & Andy VIC Rainbow Tours

We took a walking tour with VIC rainbow tours, the day we arrived into Melbourne. We have been to Melbourne before but pretty much walked around aimlessly and mainly stuck to the shopping malls - we do love to shop! This walking tour was well thought out and gave us a better knowledge of getting around the city. We stopped at landmarks we would otherwise have just walked past, and being a LGBT guide, James gave it the slant that we were looking for. We also took a trip with him down the great ocean road - that’s certainly not to be misse.

Thanks Sam, The walking tours we do are relatively new and we have had a great response so far. It is a nice way to get your bearings in a new city (or even one that you might have visited before in your case) and provides a good springboard of what to see in the city over the space of a few days. Nothing like getting real honest recommendations of 'what to do' and 'where to visit' from a local. Warmest regards, James & Andy VIC Rainbow Tours

Our friends used Vic rainbow tours on their last visit to Australia, so we were super happy to have a contact of a good guide. We didn’t know much about Phillip island, but it’s a beautiful spot. James took us to all four corners of the island. The attractions we visited were all part of the inclusive tour cost (and they were not cheap) so we felt we got good value for money. But the true value were the bits in between, where we were whisked from isolated beach to deserted lakes and to isolated walking tracks. That was the true beauty of having a private guide who knows where he is going. Even if we had of done our research (which my partner prides himself upon) we would never have found some of those locations in a million years. Some were on private land, but most were down deserted dusty side roads where nobody else seemed to venture. Their loss. Our gain!

My wife and I had gone with this tour as it looked very unique and personalised. Being picked up in a comfortable car with relatively easy pick up arrangements ensured we were out on the road before the traffic got busy. The start of the trip was amazing, many quick stops (more-so then a regular tour) to some hidden away locations, all of which are picture worthy. Unfortunately my wife got quite sick as we reached Apollo Bay for lunch, not only did James have "chuckie-bags" ready to use, but he also stopped at a pharmacy to try to overcome her sickness. Sadly (and at no fault of anyone) she continued to be quite sick. From there James provided some recommendations of detours to go inland for a easier ride home and to ensure it was a scenic experience. We ended up having to call the trip short, but going inland was still such an experience and even better is that James was calm and caring amd knew the area so well, which made a massive difference . To top it of James did buy my wife cat mug which she uses everyday (thank you again). Some of the highlight points included: 1. French cafe for breakfast - Amazing toasties and coffee 2. Apollo Bay and the viewing area over the town and ocean 3. The trip inland (when we had to call the trip early) going through the forrest and valleys 4. The cat mug! 5. James knowledge of the area, roads and history - Also some funny stories! Rameeza and I cannot thank James enough for this day, guaranteed to use James again for another trip (Phillip Island or attempt the great ocean road again) in the near future :) (Pictures to follow) Thanks - Tim and Rameeza

Dear Tim and Rameeza, Sorry for such a late reply. And thank you for taking the time to write us a review. It was a shame that Rameeza was feeling ill on the day. I'm glad to hear she uses the cat mug I bought her, every day. As you know, I have the exact same mug at home, and every time I go to make a cup of tea (sorry English heritage coming out there) I always think of you guys :) Hopefully, as you are based in Melbourne, you might be able to come down on a tour of Phillip Island sometime in the near future. Keep well both of you. P.s. No grabbing on PS4 Fall Guys, you hear me! Haha Warmest regards, James :)
