We had a great tour with Posh Penguins. Pick up from our city centre hotel was as agreed. A nice shiny new car awaited us at the doorstep. Our guide James was also fantastic. Very knowledgeable about not just phillip island, but also the rest of Australia. We also got some great tips for areas we plan to visit later this year (and possibly next year as well, if we find ourselves not being able to travel overseas). Alas, i must give this tour 4 stars, as wearing a mask was really an inconvenience. It was just my wife and I on the tour plus the guide (as it was private) so i really dont know what the big deal is about? It's worth noting that they do trips packages the great ocean road. I wish we had known this, as we used another company for the great ocean road who were God awful.

Thanks John for your honest feedback. I know wearing a mask can be annoying at times and gives the feeling of being quite constricted, but the benefit of wearing a mask is to protect others. If the person wearing the mask is unknowingly infected, wearing a mask will reduce the chances of them passing the virus on to others. It really is just to keep our community as a whole safe, whether you are on a private tour with one close family member, or on a group tour with others you don't now. I'm glad that besides the mask issue, you enjoyed your tour :) Warm regards, James Posh Penguins

The Penguin Parade is the highlight of any trip to Phillip Island. Some travellers take a coach. I have been to the Penguin Parade many times, and I know that as soon as the penguins start coming ashore, the coach drivers start revving up their engines ready to go, while many penguins are still on the beach. You miss the fun of seeing the penguins waddling back to their burrows. My advice is to take the Posh Penguins tour, they know were to go and what to do; and it's a comfortable ride. The penguins look like little men in dinner suits, they are quite charming.

Thanks Jeffry, yes our private tours really do run on a different timetable compared with the bigger coach tours. As guides, we try our best to work around the preference and timings of our guest, and not the other way around. Theres nothing worse than feeling rushed on a tour, especially at the Penguin Parade, which is one of the main highlights. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback, James :)

We had been planning this trip for many years, so to take it during covid was slightly unusual. The first problem was finding someone who could take my wife and I out there. The second problem, was ensuring the company had good covid protocols. Given we are slightly older than your average traveller, our minds were put to rest by the way our booking was handled pre-tour and the protocols that had been put in place on the day - such as available face masks, hand sanitizer, regular vehicle cleaning of the vehicle at each stop etc. The tour was exceptional. All at our our pace and adding a few additional stops to suit our preferences (the botanic gardens are a must). But we had really come for one thing, and one thing only......the Penguin Parade! Our guide said he normally said he tries to push people into buying the Parade ticket upgrades due to the sheer number of tourists that visit each night, but given we were travelling during covid, the centres capacity had thankfully been capped, so he suggested NOT to upgrade and just keep with the standard general seating on this particular occasion. He was spot on, as there was barely anyone around as everybody was well spears out and socially distancing from each other. But I can only imagine the crush when it is at full capacity. The Penguin Parade was great, but if you do go out to Phillip Island, make sure you take a full day tour out there and make the most of sightseeing around this fabulous island. It’s certainly worthwhile.

Cheers Craig, So glad we managed to get you down to the island during all the craziness of the Pandemic. And its nice for recognition on not up-selling you the upgrade that wasn't warranted. It is only on very rare occasions when an upgrade isn't appropriate. This just happened to be one of those rare occasions. Otherwise, we would normally always recommend upgrading. And the upgrade we sell, is the same cost as if you were to book it directly with the Penguin Parade centre. And for the record, we are not adding on any additional surcharge like some companies (no names!!) seem to do - tut tut. Hope you and Sue stay safe during these difficult times, James :)

As this years holidays have gone up in dust thanks to Covid, we went through our photo albums instead and went round the table picking out our favourite moment. My special moment was our last vacation, when we were fortunate enough to visit the Penguin Parade in Australia. This was a magical couple of hours. I have since sent a few friends on this tour who have all had the same positive experience.

Fun?! I must have had an extra shot in my coffee that day. I'm kidding of course. I love what I do, and the guests i normally have on tour, are often just as fun to be around. So I can't help but have fun. The day i stop having fun, is the day i will retire!! Here's to many more years of Posh Penguins!!! James :)
